What a beautiful old theatre the Regent is. It has been painstakingly restored to reveal its great beauty. Seating is comfortable and spacious and there is disabled access from the Box restaurant next door. While there take the time to check out the brilliant chandelier which I am told is an original feature of this magnificent theatre.

Spent a thrilling few hours at 'The Regent' Theatre, to witness the musical adventure that is 'Wicked'. The theatre is easily accessed by public transport, being a very short walk from Flinders Street Station. Glowing green cocktails make interval refreshments a lot of fun! Patrons are spoiled by comfortable seating and friendly, efficient ushers and theatre staff. The set of the show 'Wicked' is spectacular and the music, whilst unknown previously, was catchy and enjoyable. A thought provoking storyline about reaping what one sows. "Some are born wicked, ... others have it thrust upon them". There really is a story to be told about family, ... and what can become a dire consequence of parents secrets! I will never view the original Wizard of Oz the same way again! As for the theatre itself, it is my pick of Melbourne Theatres! Very pleasant indeed!
