The Republic is supposedly popular as a drinking corner for professionals who work nearby, but that was not the reason I went there. Apparently, this place had their burgers featured in Good Food Guide, and with that in mind I decided to give it a try.
The place is quite narrow, with large windows and doors opened for open. It has plenty of bar-style seats and cafe-style outdoor seats on its ground level, with level 2 & 3 dining area designed specifically for dining.
As of time of writing, they have different meal deals on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays with any drink purchase.
The feature burger was priced at $10 (during Wednesday deal). I bought a lemon lime bitter which was priced at $4.10, which I think was slightly overpriced for a drink that usually costs $3.50.
The burger contains grilled beef patty (which I believe was slightly over-grilled), slices of bacon, lettuce (not crispy), grilled onion, cheese, grated beetroot and the special savoury, orange-coloured sauce. It is quite a big burger and comes with a generous serving of fries.
They provide self-serve condiments (including sweet chilli and mustard), although there seems to be no self-serve serviettes (the only serviettes you can see are those that are wrapped on self-served cutleries).
The staffs are quite attentive, friendly and always present on the floor even though the crowd was yet to start when I visited.
