Republica's meaning "for the people" is Melbourne's only restaurant and bar literally on the sand. Overlooking the sand at the historic Sea Baths complex, the rooftop and be booked via Republica for those functions and events that want to be long remembered. Overlooking Port Phillip Bay, the rooftop has possibly the best view of the water in Melbourne.

    If you are lucky enough to go to Republica when they have the seafood tagliatelle - do yourself a favour and order it! Seriously divine dish. Fresh seafood, just the right amount of sauce, al dente pasta and a generous serve of rocket making it a fresh summer delight. A great place to have a few beverages and watch the sunset (although it's quite hot if you are sitting directly in the sun). The service is almost over-the-top though. Still, I'd go back for that tagliatelle...!

    Republica Bar has long since been a favourite of my family and this holiday was no exception. We took friends from overseas to one of our favourite haunts as we can always guarantee a great service, awesome seafood platter with a very crisp Chardonnay.

    A very chilled out environment that my children adore and they order the chocolate milkshakes and a large bowl of chips, which always hits the spot.

    Followed by a walk on the beach and an ice cream be assured that everyone is happy at the end of the day!

    I had an awesome time, weekend was busy but found the staff friendly/ efficient and food fantastic (not to mention the Mojitos). Great pad on the beach.

    This place use to be great, however after today I will no longer recommend this place to anyone.

    - Coffee order never came and we got told it was our fault for moving tables even though we told the staff as soon as we moved tables that we had moved from outside to inside as it was too cold (we even gave the waiter our table numbers)
    - Burnt English Muffin (50% black ) and when we complained we got told "Oh that doesn't look to bad"

    A great venue to hang out on a sunny day. It's right on the water's front, so a great people watching spot. I didn't eat there, just had a drink, but drinks alone are enough to rave about. I have to say I had drink envy as some people ordered Bloody Marys and after steeling a sip have to say they were some of the best Bloody Marys I've tasted - they even had slices of cherry tomatoes in them! The Mojitos were not too bad either.

    If you want a great meal on the beach then this is the place to go! They have great food a affordable prices- and by great, it really is delicious. Try their gourmet pizzas (availabe for only $5 on monday between 5-7 if your in for a bargain!). The pizza's have everything you want from a scrumptous margarita to gorgonzolla and lobster.... mmmm... you won't be disappointed. Relax while drinking a cocktail in their gorgeous pod cane chairs while watching the sunset in Port Phillip Bay in St. Kilda.
