I went here recently for my brothers birthday lunch. This is another one of those little Rozelle gems, tucked away on the back streets. The front bar is well laid out and welcoming but around the back is the real draw. A large, high ceilinged dining area opens out onto a lounge area and a restaurant off to the side. The dining/bar area is laid out with rows of long tables where guests can order food of they dont want to venture into the restaurant (though the multi-award winning restaurant is on my list of places to go back to after sampling the bar food that day). The back bar & bistro where we had our lunch has incredible cathedral ceilings complete with modern chandeliers. The lounge area attracted a young family when we arrived at lunch who were replaced by several groups of young, relaxed drinkers into the evening (yes, we stayed that long. Two of our part ordered the chicken roasted with oregano & garlic, pancetta, bocconcini, & fresh fig pizza and the marinated mushrooms, caramelised onion, soft goats cheese & pine nuts pizza which they devoured whole-heartedly. My mum and I ordered the tasty rocket and beetroot salad in an attempt to be healthy but couldnt help looking longingly at our companions pizzas. Wont make that mistake again! It was generally agreed that the pizzas were the choice of the day but the beer battered fish and chips were also great and all dishes were generous serves at reasonable prices (average $15).

It's within waling distance but to be honest I don't get there as regularly as I possibly should. It's a nice looking pub, with a great feel, but is a little pricey, especially the food. My best nights there have been when the back room has been hired out for a function. The staff are always pretty good, even when some of the patrons are at their worst. The front bar, on the couch during the day is my favourite time to visit. They also pour an okay Guinness.

The Three Weeds is a great place for a casual drink. Its just had a makeover and its unreal. Its a good place to meet people and chill out. It also has an extensive wine selection, so if you want to have a glass of really nice wine, thats the place to do it.

Nice space but every time I've been in for a quiet weekend beverage it's been packed with screaming kids. Good if you have some of your own I suppose but a bloody nightmare for the rest of us. Also, the back bar claims to include a Wine Bar. Someone needs to explain the need for decent wine list. The restaurant is also underwhelming given its reputation.

This pub is probably one of the best in Sydney, with something for everyone. Front bar with pool table and big screen TV's for the sports and drinking fans. Big back bar for bar food, children friendly areas, private party sections. The bar food comes from the same kitchen as the restaurant which has won chef's hat awards in the past. The chat potatoes are fantastic and much better than standard chips. Beer menu is good as is the extensive wine list. It is child friendly out the back bar so much so that we had our child's first birthday there. Great for larger parties as the boys can go one way and girls the other :)

The Weeds has been transformed and boasts a stylish, beautiful fit-out. With great bar food and private rooms available for hire this is the perfect place to chill out, whether there are 2 or 20 of you.

Beautiful place - more like a bar than a pub. Great crowd and tastefully decorated. Fantastic place to hire for a celebration.

The most characterful pub in the area, the Weeds has a great vibe, nice decor, and doesn't insist on Plasma Screens in every corner. The restaurant is pretty posh, but great food can be had from the bar menu.

Yes it is pricey to dine in the fancy restaurant out the back of the 3 Weeds, but it is worth it for a treat. The food was excellent and a really interesting menu, without being overwhelming. Its a great pub too, so once you finish eating posh you can always pop out for a beer to bring yourself back down to earth.

The bands may have gone, but the Three Weeds remains a chart-topper.

Chocolate cake. For once, I'm not thinking about food, but music. But it's because it's dinner at the Three Weeds and I'm seated right where, about 15 years ago, I used to watch bands, including Melbourne ensemble My Friend the Chocolate Cake. I'm feeling a little nostalgic and pondering whether progress is always a good thing.
