Diners can be treated to the fine skills and services of Grant and Rachel when seated in the warm and friendly environment of Restaurant Como. Opened in early 2004 and awarded the Chef’s Hat in the 2008 Good Food Guide, Chef Grant is able to present the mouthwatering Australian cuisine with creativity and style. Included in the menu is the Mirrool creek lamb, lamb neck cigar, yam fondant, pearl barley and gremolata butter. The roast fillet of Deep Sea Hapula with vanilla gnocchi, pickled baby carrot, broad beans and chorizo is given an added tang with citrus essence. A kids menu is also included. Bookings are recommended for lunch and dinner and monthly degustation events with a set menu and wines to match. For decorated parties and corporate functions, bookings are necessary.

All my family treated me to another visit to Restaurant Como for my birthday this year knowing that it is my favourite in the Mountains, or anywhere for that matter.
The service, as always, was fantastic. Rachel and her staff are so knowledgeable and willing to explain the sumptious menu and to keep glasses filled (discretely) and to clear the table only at an appropriate moment.
The menu is well written and foretells of the pleasures to come from Grant's kitchen. And pleasures they are; for the eyes initially, magnificent presentation; for the senses, favours and odours, textures and tastes, all divine.
My youngest son, who is also a chef with overseas and local experience, was also very impressed and that, for those who know him, is an accomplishment.
We have now been to Restaurant Como two or three times every year since they opened, and they never disappoint. Indeed, their consistency of outstanding cuisine and service must be their hallmark.
Since my last review, I have re-visited this restaurant. While the location is not ideal, i have to say the food is consistently amazing. Also the service they offer is very friendly and unpretentious. The scallops and pork hock were absolutely sublime. Have to say this is probably the best place I have eaten in the mountains.
The food at the Como is beautiful and it has the service to match. The only issue I have with this restaurant is its location and atmosphere. This really impacts the overall experience. Not sure why they are located at the back of a shopping centre with no mountain views. Also it feels like you are stuck in a little room and the decor is not fitting to the food quality and price. With so many great location choices in the Blue Mountains not really sure why they chose where they are located.
