    HIGH TEA HORROR
I came with my partner today to celebrate a special occasion with your High Tea.
I was suprised that my experience was such a huge disappointment.
    1)Location
The High Tea diners are ushered into a walkway with dim lighting, strange decor as if
the tasteless camoflague was hiding the bar area. The music was so terrible..I think it was a staff's favourites from her iPOD,but
definetly not for a High Tea.How does heavy rock help in the digestion of a scone?
In this location you have to endure the constant opening and closing of a nearby automatic door.aarrgghh!
I thought of High Teas have had around the world and I wanted to cry..I was so sorry to bring someone along with to
share in such a place.I just do not understand what the Manx is thinking with what is being offered.
    2)The staff.
There really is no service..you just get a three tiered stand of "delights" put on the table.
I thanked the staff for serving the water and he did not acknowledge my gratitude.
    3)The Food
Diners will always forgive poor service and atmosphere with "food to die for"
However the food was serviced on antique crockery some of it is cracked, but the food itself I suspect is mostly bought in.
The jam is not made in house, the carrot cake is Sara Lee I believe and the other food is so mundane that if I closed my eyes
I thought I was eating in a street cafe or at home. Those pasties are definetly from a chain store..there were so bad!
I could not understand why tea and coffee is not included in the price..this is what High Tea is based around..?
We diners leave home for a better experience..I could have gone to Cole's and for the same amount of money dazzled my invited guests at
home in a lovely ambient atmosphere.
I hope things get better in the future.

Once rated "my favourite restaurant", our Manx experience last night was appalling. The 'rack of veal' ( outstandingly priced @ $42!!!!) was served raw! It is difficult to tell what it tasted like as it was impossible to 'saw' it off the huge bone to which it was attached!!! (Presentation - great if you were a Great Dane) I have never had such a sinewy piece of meat in my whole life. My friend ordered and experienced the same thing. When asked "How were your meals, ladies?" we replied that the chef should be advised the veal is a 'tough as boots'. "Oh I am sorry to hear that." That was it - they were very happy to proceed with both offering us the dessert menu and charging us for the 'meals'!!!! Very tacky to say the least. Nothing will entice me to return - I feel 'ripped off'. I still have a sour taste in my mouth - so much so that I felt compelled to write my first restaurant review!!! PS: 4 tiny sea scallops as entree cost me $28.00!!!! AAAH - actually started feeling 'ripped off' @ that point in the evening!!!! PPS: NO I did not order dessert - couldn't wait to buy an ice-cream from across the walkway - delicious - great value for $$$!!!!!

Fantastic experience at Manx yet again! Have dined here a number of times and just keeps getting better!
Food was sensational Entree of Duck and Serrano Ham simply too good to be true, Love Love Loved it! Mains can recommend the Rabbit leg certainly had my tastbuds buzzing! Save room for dessert as this is a must with the tantalizing menu - hardest part is what to choose, the Dark Chocolate parfait was awesome. Maybe Manx could do some tasting plates for dessert as they all sound so lovely, I didn't ask, but perhaps they could. Will be sure to ask next time I am there.
Overall - TOP NIGHT HAD by me and my dinner guests.
    Service - Smashing!
Another thing the design / look of the restaurant is so amazing fresh and funky. LOVE IT!

All restaurants around Portside are great. Manx is a great experience. The menu selection is broad and there is something to cater for everyone's taste. A little pricy but I had a wonderful day out there.

Manx has been making waves, with its clean, modern Australian cuisine with French and Italian influences. The inviting dining room is decked out in soft tones. Book the wine room (seats up to eight) or the mezzanine which spans the length of the restaurant (seats 30). There’s plenty of alfresco seating too. Try chef-owner Paul McGivern’s sand crab-filled zucchini flower, tomato terrine and champagne veloute; braised oxtail pudding; or Grimaud duck breast, parsnip puree with fig and watercress salad. Finish with poached strawberry and almond pithivier with creme fraiche ice cream. There are wonderful wines to match, with a crop of pinot noirs and white burgundies.
