No duck or rabbit despite being advertised as available. Was informed that the internet menu was not up to date. Instead ordered Salmon which was supposed to be served with broccolini but came out with broccoli & what appeared to be frozen corn and looked terrible. We were told that a big table had come in which is why there was no broccolini left however as far as i'm concerned they always have the same number of tables in the restaurant?????

Best to go somewhere else! Appalling atmosphere, food awful. Staff tried their best but food took 2 hours to arrive and was unfortunately not worth the wait. Meat raw. Seafood wasn't fresh. No vegetarian mains on menu. Booking wasn't recorded so no table on arrival for 50th birthday dinner! Put out on the footpath amongst car exhaust fumes and window-shoppers at gift-shop next door milling about the table. Used to be good but not anymore. We won't be going back.

Perhaps we were aiming a little high when we booked a table at Rapide. Having had possibly the worst week imaginable we thought we'd treat ourselves to a no expense spared night out. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Entrees were without a doubt fabulous. Then came the mains. The waitress advised that the duck was served medium-rare however we could request medium if wed prefer (it was apparent that the raw duck was not considered a hit by customers in the past! the table behind us commented how terrible it was which should have been a sign!). Not being a fan of sinewy bloody duck I said medium would be fabulous. When the duck turned up rare I was extremely disappointed. I gave the chef the benefit of the doubt and ate some of the dish this only confirmed my initial disappointment. The waitress said she thought the duck should have gone back to the kitchen but offered no apology for serving the underdone dish. $200 later were hungry and extremely disappointed by the whole experience.
    We wont be going back.

This is one of my few favourite restaurants! Service is superb, staff are friendly and helpful, but also understand (unlike many restaurants) that you are there with your own guests, you don't want to spend the night making small talk with staff! Food is absolutely amazing, the chef really knows his stuff, menu is exciting, with quality ingredients and served beautifully. Love the atmosphere and decor - relaxed but elegant!

Excellent restaurant located in a nice part of Brisbane. It is quite pricy so save this restaurant for a special occasion. It's lovely inside and the staff are very professional. Full credit goes to the chef - he's obviously put a lot of hard work and time into perfecting everything about this restaurant.

When founding chef Paul McGivern moved to Portside to open Manx last year, he sold Rapide to sous chef Sam Walters (ex-Sirromet) and his wife Annie (who runs front of house). The couple seems to have gone with the tenet: when you’re on to a good thing, stick to it. The room is crisp and fresh, the service welcoming and cheerful. And the food still shines, with great attention to detail and quality ingredients. Try the rabbit and pistachio terrine with dates. Mains: $30.
