Expensive for a buffet especially when the food is not all that great. I see it hasn't changed from a couple of years ago (last time we visited... and you wonder why). The menu was exactly the same. Maybe time for a review on the menu? Some more decent seafood dishes? Roast pork, roast chicken?? Also tables are not cleared as often as it should be. At one stage, we had plates scattered all over our tables as there were not enough waiting staff around to clean up. I held a function here last week which went okay as my family made it a special time for our event despite the dramas we had with the Function Manager earlier. If you plan to hold a function here (which I strongly recommend you don't), always make sure you follow up and confirm confirm CONFIRM!! Twice my reservation had not been booked and when it was finally booked in and confirmed, staff called me twice to check if I still required the booking. Unbelievable. I say if, and only if, Richlands Tavern is the last resort for me, I would definitely not want to deal with the Function Manager again. Hospitality is clearly not her forte.
The restarant is always packed (but i suspect this is because we have visited on nights where children dine free). Buffest style which is probably a bit over-priced. Food is not topped up often and is quite oily / greasy.
Not for the health conscious but great if you want a supersize-me type diet.
The customer service here is absolutely disgusting and appalling and thats being kind. We had made 3 phone calls and visited the establishment to confirm our reservation to only be greeted by a disorganized & unprofessional management and staff. No tables were organised, our proposed area within the restaurant area was disregarded and informed the function room was only available that has an apparent $300 booking fee, they spoke over the top of me when I voiced my concerns as it differed to our initial booking, and we were blamed for the lack of communication amongst staff and duty manager's unpleasant manners. The food is mediocre and is something we expect eating at a buffet, thou reasonable considering the large portions. I have never felt so belittled and embarrassed in my long line of dinning experience as we had family members who had come from interstate to celebrate our special occasion. Disgraceful!
I would like to say that the Richlands did a fantastic job of organising our reception last Sunday 10th October, Tess was fantastic and really helpful. The food was fantastic to. Richlands is a good place to hold your venue.
