Robot is tucked away in a Melbourne laneway but stands out from other bars in that it offers Japanese snacks and Asian beers in a trendy atmosphere. Unique cocktails are also part of the appeal. It is open until very late on Friday and Saturday nights.

    Great little drinking spot. can get expensive tho. Bar staff are fun and always smile. It is annoying that you have to stay back from the alley way because of the other bar and this can be a real pain because of the small space but all the other little perks make up for it. Nice place until it gets busy.

    Not at all what I was expecting. I knew from word of mouth that robot was going to be a small bar however I was not expecting to feel completely cramped once the crowd started to set in.
    We originally went on a Tuesday night to watch the anime on the big screen and were obviously the only ones wishing to do so as the other patrons were loud, inconsiderate and rude.
    The website claimed that robot served sushi and traditional japanese snacks however there was no menu or list of snacks anywhere and I couldn't even see a kitchen or area to prepare any sort of food which was disappointing. Robot also has unisex toilets which took awhile and a few drinks to get used to.
    If I did go back to robot however it would be for the drinks and the impeccable service from the bar staff as that was definately what made the night enjoyable.

    small, chic & inviting, Robot delivers on so many levels. One of those bars that are tucked away down a laneway, this place is worth the search. Full of manga inspired kitsch, this place is cool but hot! A great range of drinks & always open - this place is Robo cool!
