Chatswood's acclaimed 'Rcoket Restaurant' serves up a wide array of innovated modern Australian cuisine, influenced by head chef Wayne Rowe's Mediterranean food background.

As I just said that word 'Mediterranean' you could probably already have guessed that Rocket's menu is seafood laden. Fresh Hervey Bay seared scallops, Sydney rock oysters, swordfish, ocean trout and prawns all feature prominently served in delicious sauces and pastas. For those looking for something a bit less fishy, the soubise duck breasts or beef Rossini is sure to hit the spot.

Save room for dessert, Switzerland's own Fleurina Mayer has crafted a delectable section of after dinner treats. Book tonight for that special occasion dinner.

High chairs available for children, licensed with bar but BYO available (corkage $10).

Tucked away in Chatswood this second floor restaurant served up beautiful entrees, mains and dessert. The food was exquisite! (and you paid for it) but when combined with the service was friendly and warm - it was worth it. The complementary appetizers and petit le fours added a little class and style to the evening. Not much they can do about the view, so a pretty person to dine with is a must. Will definitely visit again.

I was disappointed in this restaurant. The food was very tasty, however the meals were small and overpriced, and the sides were also very expensive. The service was excellent, the staff were very friendly and made sure that everything was satisfactory, however they were not obtrusive.

I was quite disappointed when I dined at this restaurant. The meals were small and very expensive ($9 for a side of shoestring fries!), and although you can BYO wine, the corkage is very expensive also. On the up side, the food is delicious and presented beautifully, and the service could not have been better. Attentive wait staff, and meals were brought out promptly.

Not many fine dining places in Chatswood but this is one of them. Food is mod Aus and interesting and staff are friendly and helpful.

The chef's instincts and good waiters strike the right note.

Venice is famous for its champagne and salmon roe. I didn't know this but it seemed the logical conclusion to being told that Venetian oysters were dressed thus. No wonder Casanova had such a good time. The dish had its first 15 minutes on Otto's menu a few years back. Rocket's chef Wayne Rowe took note and has subsequently staged their comeback. I'm not a fan of fiddling with Sydney rock oysters beyond opening them but I'll concede ground in this instance, since the champagne vinaigrette's genial acidity is a fine complement to the creamy richness of these Port Stephens bivalves along with the pop of the Yarra Valley eggs. Natasha, our omnipresent waitress, proposed a solution to our curiosity by including a trio of the Venetian version alongside the balance of our half-dozen ($18) in their natural state. That eager-to-please approach is part of what makes this northside fine diner so likeable. Sheer effort overcomes any shortcomings in personality. Rocket is the very mode...
