Rooftop Bar & Cinema is located at the top of Curtain House in Swanston Street, Melbourne, which is also home to Cookie bar and The Toff in Town bar. Open from November until March each year, it screens classic films and new hits in the open air, with the city lights creating atmosphere. Drinks are served until 1am, so don’t rush home. Be sure to take a blanket or jumper as Melbourne nights can get cold.

This is by far my favourite bar in Melbourne. If I had people out of town visiting Melbourne, I'd take them here. Apart from the long hike up the stairs (if you're lucky you can get the elevator), this place is well worth the hike. The reason I like this rooftop over many other Melbourne rooftops is there are no concrete walls or other tall buildings around this place, you can pretty much get a view from any direction. The crowd up here is very friendly and chilled, a great hipster/indie atmosphere, you don't need a collar shirt to get in here. Sometimes the music can be a bit too loud. I particularly like the fake grass and beach chairs. On a good Summer afternoon, nothing beats having a drink up here. The jugs of sangria are perfect for a group of friends. I highly recommend this place, it's fast becoming popular. If you're planning to visit this place on a Friday afternoon, try to get in before 5:30 other you'll be facing a large queue.
