I had the best breakfast here yesterday. They were chokkers but still managed to pull everything off efficiently and the food was amazing - smoked salmon omelette and a vast array of toast varieties. My partner had a fantastic red pepper house relish with his eggs poached to perfection. It was the attention to detail with the food, special extra touches that made it stand out. The coffee is always good here but my partner loves the Summer Tea with ginger, honey and mint - even if it is autumn!

I love the light airy space, the service and the food at Rosebud. Good salads, delicious breakfasts and very good coffee. It's very alive whenever you go and they have special nights as well which are fun. This is a must try and for after dinner drinks try the Corner Bar afterwards.

Rosebud is a lovely open space with long benches along the windows; there is an open kitchen which s always fun to watch and some lovely sweets on display.

Some girlfriends originally introduced me to Rosebud. We had a lovely long lunch, the food was great and the staff didnt hurry us out. It was a great introduction and has ensured my regular return.

Since then Ive also become a fan on their breakfast offerings. Their eggs are dependably yummy and they have great seasonal specials.

My most recent visit was for a late Sunday breakfast with my coffee-loving friend. It was bustling with an assortment of families, groups, tourists, singles & couples. The staff, in their lovely grey shirts, are all gorgeous to look at & lovely to boot!

My friend ordered his usual latte and I partook in my weekend treat: affogatto. Our coffees were so good we ordered seconds, and they were equally as delicious.

My friend had the cinnamon pancakes, served with fresh strawberries and rich, thick cream. I snuck a mouthful and they were lovely and fluffy. I considered the omelet special (with herb and feta) but decided on the French toast, though I asked them to swap the bacon out for some haloumi, and also add some fruit. They took the switch in their stride. My French toast was beautifully cooked brioche with just enough egg, the haloumi was cooked to perfection, the fresh strawberries a perfect match. I liked that the syrup was served on the side, so I was able to add as much as was suitable for me yet there was still the option to drown it in syrup if Id so desired.

It was also pleasant that they hadnt charged extra to swap the bacon for haloumi, a logical approach that some other cafs seem unable to comprehend.

My friend and I were both full by the end of our visit and we will be back again, and again, and probably again...

Superb food, excellent service. We went to Rosebud during the week and had their banquet option. Each offering was outstandingly cooked and served promptly. The waiter offered an explanation of each dish - their composition and presentation. A tremendous way to end the day.

Cameron MacPherson is probably worried I'm stalking him.

This is my third review in less than two years of restaurants involving the talented, if somewhat peripatetic, young chef. I hope he realises I'm a fan. I'm visiting Rosebud primarily because he's in charge of the kitchen. The surprise in this latest venture is Macpherson's ability to reinvent himself and his cooking. Unexpectedly, I'm eating superb Middle Eastern food. I'm used to a certain rustic approach to this style of fare, yet Macpherson's take gives it a refined, almost regal touch, starting with crunchy little footballs of lamb kofta ($9), with mint and cucumber yoghurt to dip them in.
