I agree with newbie. We recently had a similar experience with the marquee. It was a very hot day and we were assured it would be air conditioned and it wasnt. Also much confusion regarding the timing of the use of gardens. We were guaranteed sole use between 4 and 6 only to have another couple return around 5! We couldnt even park our wedding cars in the drive for photos as a result! Other disappointments included no champagne being served for speeches and only a third of my cake being served to guests.also guests reported that music finished as soon as we left, despite being told the function finished half an hour after we departed. the food, mc and venue ambience were all great, but would recommend a venue that only holds one wedding per night!

I had my wedding ceremony here this month and was so disappointed with the service I received. Firstly I booked the time in, giving myself plenty of time to have photos in the gardens there, only to be told after my wedding invitations were printed that I could not use the gardens as they had booked another wedding soon after mine. They asked me to change the time of my wedding after I had already sent my invitations. Then they advised I would be able to take photos in the garden for 1 hour then move to the front gardens. Whilst I was disappointed as this was not what I had paid for I could deal with having photos for one hour in the nicer gardens.
On the day, they told me they would have someone at the gate directing my guests to the marquee. This did not happen, one of my guests asked one of the staff members where to go and was told to keep walking, you will find it in a patronizing way.
The real disappointment came when I was walking down the aisle, to my horror the music stopped when I was about a quarter of the way down the aisle, they then played a different song and changed the music about 4 times, this was meant to be one of the highlights of the day, I was shocked and my guests couldn't believe their ears. I struggle to understand what was so hard about playing the music I had taken so much time to find. It was a total embarrassment.
Three of my guests are getting married in the New Year and were all considering Roslyn Court for their reception and have since reconsidered after seeing how unorganized and unprofessional staffs were on my wedding day.
I was also told the marquee would be air-conditioned on the 39 degrees day, I believe it was hotter in the marquee than it was outside.
Lastly, after my ceremony when we went to take pictures in the garden which I was told I could use for an hour, we were told that we could not use those gardens as there was another wedding so we would have to use the front gardens.
I would not recommend using Roslyn Court for your wedding, they are unorganized and unprofessional. Save yourself the embarrassment and have your special day elsewhere.

I too had my wedding there recently and found the same thing. 37 degrees and the marquee did not seem very cool, despite being assured it would be. We were told we would have the gardens until the reception at six but another couple returned shortly after our ceremony at 4. Luckily we had decided to go elsewhere for photos so it wasnt an issue. On returning though our cars couldnt come in the driveway as the other bridal party was there and they werent supposed to be! As a result we have no pics in front of the venue with our wedding cars. Other disappointments were they didnt bring out champagne for toasts, they only served a third of our cake and guests told me as soon as we left the music was turned off. I thought there was about half an hour of function time left. all of these were small issues (nowhere near as bad as yours) but pretty unprofessional..

Had my wedding there in 2012 and have to admit I agree with 'undefined undefined's' review. Promises and great sales pitch, but underdelivered. I cannot recommend as there was a big price-hike which I believe unreasonable. Fair is fair but this was not. Do not have your big day here. Choose others instead,we wish we had.

Had our wedding at Roselyn Court last year and I definitely chose the right place. We got married in the Marquee and took beautiful photos in the gardens. All my guests loved the food and I must say it was a relief to have such attentive staff on such a special day. It was recommended to me by a friend and I now definitely recommend it to everyone, whether it be your special day or special event. You really have to see this hidden gem in Essendon for yourself! Friends of mine are considering getting married here in a years time as well.

We had a wonderful experience and found the food was really good. Having been at other weddings where we were hungry and the quality was average we were pleasantly surprised.
We loved our room and the cosy intimate feeling with our guests. We liked the staff and parking was great as we looked at other venues where parking would be a problem. We had special food requirements which went smoothly. We thought the room decorations and the period ambience was really nice which made it different and we felt more relaxing than a super modern venue. We all had a nice experience with no stress

I got married here and was quite disappointed. They did a great sales job on how good the food would be and how they are very capable of catering for choices, so that we don't have to alternate dishes that most large functions do. I did query whether or not they would be able to cope if too many people end up choosing the same dish, but was assured that they have plenty of food and their high-tech ovens would be able to cope with the demand easily, especially given that we were a party of 80 only. I then proudly told my guests to choose their food, but they ran out of food as I had feared and quite a few of my guests did not get a choice. I don't expect them to overstock food, but I wish they did not promise something that they couldn't deliver. Disappointment is really something that I could have done without on such an important day of my life.
