Wow what a great little country pub. Extensive menu and wine list. Fantastic food and we were extremely happy to see table service for drinks and meals which is very hard to come by in hotels these days. Have eaten there a few times now and are very impressed.

I had my birthday here and have dined here a few other occasions and time after time we all loved our meals, service and everything came out to us very quickly. Have recommended to all my friends and family.

After reading the TERRIBLE service review of the Clarry I felt compelled to respond. I have been going to this hotel for 5 years and have never known bad service or waiting times the likes of which this person is talking. The staff and service are always fantastic and our tables meals have always come out at the same time. I think the writer of the TERRIBLE service!!!! review either got their hotels mixed up or has an alterior motive behind their comments. I recommend to anyone that has not been to the Royal Oak to go and experience the excellent food, service and atmosphere for themselves.

TERRIBLE service!!!! After waiting 15mins for someone to take our drinks order, it was another ten before we got them. Than another twenty while we waited for someone to come and take our order. Eventually, we went up to the counter to order, only to be informed that had we been more "patient" someone would be coming to take our order. After placing our orders, we waited forty minutes for our meals to be brought out seperately and at ten minute intervals. So by the time I got my food, my partner had already finished. Noone asked if we wanted more drinks or dessert and all of the waitresses avoided eye contact and didnt bother to clear our table. The food was edible, but given the staggered timing of it, noone enjoyed their meals. I will NEVER go back here. A lot to be said for their "customer service". Very disappointing and I intend to tell everyone I know about how awful it was.
