Dont be fooled by the friendly service you receive prior to them arriving to do the job. Which managment of a company very unhelpful to customers over the phone and doesnt have the courtesy to apologize?

Despite the removal team showing up on time the first thing they try to do is upsell on the agreed price of $100 for the 3 men and a truck as they said that to move the two bedroom apartment would take all day with 3 men. When I used a local company one year ago with only two men they had the job done in 4.5h so not sure why these removalists thought it would take them the whole day with 3 men? I ended up agreeing to pay $150/h for four men thinking it would take them twice as quick. It didnt! In the end I paid $1150 cash as opposed to $450 with the two men I used one year ago. On top of all of this I got a call from management for checking whether 1h travel was included as part of the deal. The email I received said three qualified removalists and a big truck for $100 per hour with one hour travel. This wasnt very clear to me so thought I would check and thats when management decided to be unhelpful over the phone. I would never use again or recommend to anyone.

I have used royal removals twice now, the first time, when ringing around for quotes, these guys were the cheapest per hour and easiest to book online with. While getting quotes, other removal companies would bad mouth there compeditors. This left a bad taste in my mouth. Royal Removals never did this. When the day came to move they were professional and quick. They emptied a 4 bedroom house and then put my furniture and gear into my new two storey house within 3 hours, without any damage. Happy as Larry.

The second time I used them I arranged to put my furniture and gear into storage. Not knowing any better and using the storage staff's advice i booked a unit. Furniture was promptly put into the truck, James (Royal Removals Owner) queried me on the size of the storage unit, as he said that my gear would fill his truck. Spoke with the Storage company and they rebooked me a bigger unit. When arriving at the storage facility, found out that the truck wouldn't fit into the facility and the unit was miles away from the entry to the facility. James then said that it would take hours (5-6 hours) to ferry my gear into this unit, which would cost a small fortune. James arranged the same size unit cheaper at another storage facility and capped my bill. They have also capped my moving costs for next time I move from the storage to my new house.

It was great having them work with you to get the best solution for you.

Thanks James and Royal Removals, I will be re-booking with your soon hopefully.

Just wanted to share my experience that i had with Royal Removals.
They did a fantastic job, on the 25/6/2011 they moved my housemates and i's belongings to a storage compartment, and they were really proffesional.

I have experienced bad removalists in the past, such as mini movers, and they were horrendous.
Mini movers charged me 380 dollars to move just one room which consisted of a couple of boxes a wall unit and a fridge.

in moving my belongings with royal removals, which consisted of 2 bedrooms a lounge room and a massive rear projector tv, fridge and once again my wall unit with book cases and 20 boxes and a tallboy chest of drawers, they only charged 385.

value for money, great service, and the gentile men were really nice.

thanks royal removalists, i look forward to seeing you when you move my stuff from storage to my new house on the 8th of july 2011.

    Hello,

This is my second time choosing Royal Removals to assist in moving my property. Both times they have done an outstanding job without a fault. Many of my friends have also chosen to go with Royal Removals. They are by far the cheapest, quality removal company i have come across. Our house took 5 hours to move with James and Jared moving our house the second time round.

Definitely recommend booking on their website as this was so easy and i received a phone call 5minutes after requesting my move.

    Thanks!

Very cheap and awesome service, we used Royal Removals to move our 5 bedroom home. The truck was massive, unlike other companies they fit all of our belongings into the truck without having to do extra trips to and from our home which saved us so much money. From the delivery of boxes to pre packing our stuff even assembling our beds, Royal removals took care of everything from start to finish. They were very honest with the costs, stating everything via email to confirm our conversation over the phone. We would like to give a huge thanks to James for organising our house move. We will pass on your name to anyone whom may ask. Thank you again.

Just like to share our experience with Royal Removals on Saturday 11th June.

We have had terrible experiences with Removalist in the past but this company really took the cake. They came into our home, packed all of our belongings into boxes with GREAT care with no fuss. I'd definitely be recommending this company to all my friends and family.

    Regards,
    Jared & Kim

Royal Removals - Great company and would give them the benefit of the doubt any day. I also received an email with the quote of $88 p/h which sounded amazing. When they rocked up to my property the removalist said with my access the job may take quiet a long time. They then gave me a set quote of $300 which saved me over $200 in the long run as it took them 6 hours to do! ($572.00)

With regards to the comment below, i believe that you have misunderstood what the company was trying to do for you. I would give Royal Removals the benefit of the doubt.

WARNING!!! this is a warning to anyone who wants to give to this company the benefit of the doubt. Here is my story.

On Sunday the 29th of May I booked in them to come and move my tiny 2 bedroom Unit for Saturday 11th of June at 7am for $88 an hour with no extras. On Friday 9th of June the manager rang and told me that their truck had broken down and if we could move our booking to Sunday the 12th. I said that this wasn't an issue and asked if there was a price different, he said no. He said sorry and that we will be there on Sunday the 12th at 11am. On Sunday the 12th at 11am I got a phone (at 11am) from the driver saying that he is running, uponing asking how long he will be he said he would be there around 2ish. I said ok. I rang the manager and said I don't really have time to sit around here and because this is the second that your company has changed my booking time are you actually going to move me at all. He insured me that he would (and i believed him).

At 2ish I got another call (at 2, not either or later, at 2) saying that he won't be there until 4pm. So getting a little annoyed I said fine, I don't have a choice I will wait. The driver and his truck rocked up at 5pm. They didn't say Hello even though I was standing there waiting for him, he mumble his name as he followed me in. When we got there his colleague started to move things while the driver discussed a price he asked for the amount that the manager gave me I informed him that it was 88 an hour. He said that he would speak to the manager as it's suppose to be $110. When he rang him and came back to me he said that it would be $110 an hour, with a 2hour min sunday fee and that the final price would be $300. I said I would ring the office and talk to the manager didn't answer the phone and hung up on me then turned his phone off. I told him that the quote that I was given that I have a copy of said 88 an hour with no extras. He said (and I quote) "either pay me $300 or we move to our next job". I told him to give me back my stuff. He dumped them out the front of my house and left. I continued to call him but there was no point.

I give a WARNING to everyone, they may seem nice and cheap and James might seem nice on the phone but they are useless and unhelpful. If you have any issues with this company I suggest that you report them to ACCC it takes 5 mins to fill out a form.

2 bookings in 2009. On the first, they turned up 5 hours late, turned out OK as was only a small move. On the second booking, they turned up a day late. Hope they've improved since.
