Terrible!!! Do not even consider these guys.
Contacted them, told me to book on their website.
No confirmation after booking, contacted them to confirm but didn't turn up on the day saying I was booked next day.
At 6am on very next day they just send me a SMS saying they cancel my moving, no apologizing follow up.
This was not professional at all. Wasted so much time and money because of Royal Removals.

Giving them a half star is too much.

When i rang to get a quote i was given a price of $3000 (and was told it included GST) for a 60 cube truck and 3 staff and decided to book with them as they were middle of the range. They arrived on the day (in a beat up old truck) and the first thing they did was hand my husband the bill $3000 + GST so $3300. My husband questioned it and was told that they never told me that the original quote included GST. Knowing full well that we had to be out of our house in a matter of days they told him that was the price and to pay it or they would leave. Thats not where it ends!! They are rough, the brand new timber floors in the lounge room we scratched as instead of picking up furniture they were drag across the floor! They dont use the thick grey matts that they have in their truck. They only filled the truck to 80% capacity which left conveiniently anything that was akward or "too heavy". My husband questioned why the truck wasnt full and was told "We've been in this industry for 20 yrs dont you think we'd know what we're doing" and "you cant put too much weight over the back axle". So that was it they left with our lifes worth of furniture and household goods for a storage shed 6 hours away. We recieved a message later that day to say that our stuff was all good and delivered to the storage sheds as requested. 2 Months later when it came time to upack the storage shed, you can imagine my absolute dismay when i opened the door to find my timber dining suite, entertainment unit and $6000 leather lounge all stanging on their sides in the shed. I had booked 2 sheds as i knew that there was alot of stuff and they basicly just thew everything in. My leather lounge now has a hole on it, every piece of timber furniture I own was scratched and most have dents aswell. And to top it off they DONT HAVE INSURANCE!!! Very dissapointed in this company.

I spoke to the staff of Royal Removals, re the move, and they told me to book it on line for 7 am, for 2 hours, which I did, although i told them verbally the time must be 8.30 am arrival, as she has 2 small sons to take to child care at 8am and they had to be out the way. They said that 8.30 was fine, but i should nominate 7 am on the website, and so i did.

I had a phone call from them at 8.12 on the Friday saying they had been banging on the door since 7.50 and no one had answered, and i told them that my daughter would be back any minute as i had previously explained that she would be dropping off her children, they said well its too late im already near back to upper coomera, which is a long long way from Merrimac! I reitereated that i had told them 8.30 and they said we dont want to argue and hung up on me. I then sent a text explaining that she is 20 weeks pregnant, her partner has just left her, and she has to be moved out of the house today, as it had to be handed back to the agents. And i asked them please to not be mean. They sent a nice text back saying "we will make her smile because it sounds like she needs happy and kind people around her with positive direction and kind hearts" I was so grateful for that comment because she is so vulnerable right now. They also said they would return at midday to do the job for her.

At 11.05 (not 12 as stated) they turned up at the house and i went over to talk to them, as they were saying it was a 5 -6 hour job. (I personally just did a full move with twice as much stuff as my daughter and over a longer distance and it took only 5 hours) I asked them if they could just load up the large items, and we would manage all the small stuff, and they said well we do a minimum 2 hours at $100 per hour, and i said thats fine, whatever you can load unload in 2 hours, that is fine, to which they said well tell you what, we will write a receipt right now for $300 and you pay me that and we will keep going to get the big stuff moved even if it goes over time you dont have to worry $300 is all we will take, we will look after you. I shook their hand, i was so grateful for the compassion they were showing to a clearly distressed fragile young girl. So they were ready to commence at 11.15, I unfortunately had to take my youngest daughter at that point to her friends house which was half hours drive away, but i returned straight away to my daughters expecting that with one hour passed, being now 12.20 that they would still be in full swing. When i got to my daughters nobody was there and the house was still full of heavy furniture, so i called her on her mobile, and she said we are down the road at the new house paying the staff, they have to leave now!! They had unloaded one load to the new house garage which is 2 minutes drive away from the pick up point, it wasnt even a full load and it was left right on the edge of the garage so you couldnt even gain access. My daughter already gave them $300, even though she had meekly questioned the amount as it had only been 1 hr and 5 minutes of actual time, they had said yes still $300, we have already given you the receipt, and being so naive my daughter gave it to them. So she paid $300 which should have been 3 hours, for a one hour 5 minute job, and still left us to do all the moving in cars, and later with a borrowed ute managed to shift the heavy stuff. I worked until 3am the next day to move it all, as the cleaners were due in at 6.30am.

Had my husband not been working and had been supervising what they were doing he would never have allowed this to happen.

daughter left home with the children at 8.01 arriving at day care at 8.06 as per the sign in sheet, i should have know better.

Do not book with this company. We booked and received confirmation of our booking and availability. A week later we received a call to cancel our booking as they had obviously taken another more lucrative appointment. No explanation was provided apart from that they would now be in Melbourne. This co-incided with me emailing earlier that morning to follow up on the free packing kit that was to be provided with the booking. When they called to cancel the booking they were actually just responding to the email, as they thought they had phoned me the previous day to cancel which they hadn't. Goodness knows what would have happened if I hadn't emailed about the packing kit! No doubt we would have been without a removalist on the day our house sold. In fact when stating that I was unhappy about the cancellation as I would have difficulty finding someone else at short notice, they said that it was better than not showing up on the day (as if they should be congratulated for cancelling beforehand).

Dont be fooled by the friendly service you receive prior to them arriving to do the job. Which managment of a company very unhelpful to customers over the phone and doesnt have the courtesy to apologize?

Despite the removal team showing up on time the first thing they try to do is upsell on the agreed price of $100 for the 3 men and a truck as they said that to move the two bedroom apartment would take all day with 3 men. When I used a local company one year ago with only two men they had the job done in 4.5h so not sure why these removalists thought it would take them the whole day with 3 men? I ended up agreeing to pay $150/h for four men thinking it would take them twice as quick. It didnt! In the end I paid $1150 cash as opposed to $450 with the two men I used one year ago. On top of all of this I got a call from management for checking whether 1h travel was included as part of the deal. The email I received said three qualified removalists and a big truck for $100 per hour with one hour travel. This wasnt very clear to me so thought I would check and thats when management decided to be unhelpful over the phone. I would never use again or recommend to anyone.

I have used royal removals twice now, the first time, when ringing around for quotes, these guys were the cheapest per hour and easiest to book online with. While getting quotes, other removal companies would bad mouth there compeditors. This left a bad taste in my mouth. Royal Removals never did this. When the day came to move they were professional and quick. They emptied a 4 bedroom house and then put my furniture and gear into my new two storey house within 3 hours, without any damage. Happy as Larry.

The second time I used them I arranged to put my furniture and gear into storage. Not knowing any better and using the storage staff's advice i booked a unit. Furniture was promptly put into the truck, James (Royal Removals Owner) queried me on the size of the storage unit, as he said that my gear would fill his truck. Spoke with the Storage company and they rebooked me a bigger unit. When arriving at the storage facility, found out that the truck wouldn't fit into the facility and the unit was miles away from the entry to the facility. James then said that it would take hours (5-6 hours) to ferry my gear into this unit, which would cost a small fortune. James arranged the same size unit cheaper at another storage facility and capped my bill. They have also capped my moving costs for next time I move from the storage to my new house.

It was great having them work with you to get the best solution for you.

Thanks James and Royal Removals, I will be re-booking with your soon hopefully.

Just wanted to share my experience that i had with Royal Removals.
They did a fantastic job, on the 25/6/2011 they moved my housemates and i's belongings to a storage compartment, and they were really proffesional.

I have experienced bad removalists in the past, such as mini movers, and they were horrendous.
Mini movers charged me 380 dollars to move just one room which consisted of a couple of boxes a wall unit and a fridge.

in moving my belongings with royal removals, which consisted of 2 bedrooms a lounge room and a massive rear projector tv, fridge and once again my wall unit with book cases and 20 boxes and a tallboy chest of drawers, they only charged 385.

value for money, great service, and the gentile men were really nice.

thanks royal removalists, i look forward to seeing you when you move my stuff from storage to my new house on the 8th of july 2011.

    Hello,

This is my second time choosing Royal Removals to assist in moving my property. Both times they have done an outstanding job without a fault. Many of my friends have also chosen to go with Royal Removals. They are by far the cheapest, quality removal company i have come across. Our house took 5 hours to move with James and Jared moving our house the second time round.

Definitely recommend booking on their website as this was so easy and i received a phone call 5minutes after requesting my move.

    Thanks!

Very cheap and awesome service, we used Royal Removals to move our 5 bedroom home. The truck was massive, unlike other companies they fit all of our belongings into the truck without having to do extra trips to and from our home which saved us so much money. From the delivery of boxes to pre packing our stuff even assembling our beds, Royal removals took care of everything from start to finish. They were very honest with the costs, stating everything via email to confirm our conversation over the phone. We would like to give a huge thanks to James for organising our house move. We will pass on your name to anyone whom may ask. Thank you again.
