Roy's is a very cool and very trendy tapas joint in the heart of Bondi that attracts plenty of equally cool and trendy locals on any night of the week. The banquet menu is good for groups, and generally pretty good value, and while the sign may say Roy's Seafood, there's also plenty for meat lovers and vegos alike. Individual tapas dishes can be pricey, but if you're careful with your ordering (and lay off the booze), you can have a relatively cheap night with friends here. The couches by the window looking onto the street are the best seats in the house and always occupied, but if you can get a spot there you'll have a good evening of people-watching ahead of you, particularly with Bondi FM next door attracting the beautiful people. The alfresco bit out the back is also a good spot if you can get it, and joins up to Bondi FM which is pretty handy for after-dinner drinks.

Don't be fooled by the name. I don't even like seafood and I quite like Roys.

I have been here several times - mainly in big groups. Each time we have had the $30 banquet. There is so much food it is insane! I have never heard of anyone leaving hungry. There is alot of variety and the majority of people would find several things they like amongst the banquet cuisine.

First off is the cheese and charcuterie board. The three cheeses are amazing! The manchego is the best. On the platter is caramelised onions, pickles and muscatels. All outstanding accompaniments to the cheese and it;s clear that they have really thought about the menu.

Then you are faced with an onslaught of tapas. Meatballs in tomato sauce, chorizo doused with some kind of BBQ sauce, chat potatoes, tomato and boccocini salad, calamari with a tasty aoili and so much more. It just keeps on coming until you think you are going to explode (note to self - wear lose fitting pants on next visit).

Drinks are not included in the banquet and this can sometimes up the price quite dramatically. Probably the main downside of Roys.

Staff are friendly and accommodating and it dining at Roys is generally a very pleasant experience.

Roy's has outstanding service and the atmosphere is great!
The food wasn't AMAZING but still very good!
Still recommend it to anyone who's in Bondi and wants a nice meal and drink.

Two different friends have recommended this place and I had to try it out. I love tapas and Roy's didn't disappoint. The service was very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious...I definitely recommend the fish pie, garlic and chilli prawns, wagu beef, chat potatoes, spanish omelet...everything we had was great quality and well presented. I would recommend booking in advance to avoid being turned away, however my friend and I rocked up early Saturday evening and didn't have any issues, but the venue was starting to get packed by 7pm ish. It attracts a trendy crowd, played some cool music in the background and has some artwork scattered around for decor. At the back is a nice covered and heated outdoor area. If asked I would probably choose Roy's over Mojo's, but that is a tough call...they're both excellent and Mojo's does have a great view of Bondi Beach.
