After seeing the "under new management" sign on Samford Seafood, we looked forward to the change. We have not been disappointed in portion sizes or food taste. On the one occasion we did have a mishap with our order, management were apologetic and helpful. You cannot please all of the people all of the time, but for those of us that enjoy your food, I say thanks.

When opening under new management, we had a few bad experiences and avoided Samford Seafood. Last week we were keen for fish and chips and decided to give them another go (not too many other options in the village) and were pleasantly surprised. Two good take-away nights : fresh, tasty fish, not too oily, great portion size. Third time unlucky. Today it seems they have gone back to their old ways. Incorrect order to begin with, the fish was thin, very oily, hard and WELL done. Tasted worse than it looked. Pointed out the order was incorrect, however management was aggressive and defensive, and replacing the fish was not an option. It's a small village, mate. Shape up or ship out on your trawler.

  We are sorry to hear you were disappointed with your recent meal, we always take great care and pride in the food we serve. Unlike many fish n chip shops we batter and crumb products to order and make many products ourselves. Meals are visually inspected by at least 2 staff before being served, however when making over 1500 meals a week it is inevitable that some mistakes will be made. Having said this we have only ever received a small number of complaints. We are always happy to rectify incorrect orders when we are at fault or replace food which has not been cooked correctly when complaints are raised in an appropriate and timely manner- requests to replace food have been declined on a few occasions eg due to abusive conduct of complainant, replacement meal requested after entire meal consumed or several days after meal ordered. I really enjoyed the fish and chips here as they were fresh and tasted like fish!! The only place we go locally.

Great fish and chips, and the pizzas are much better than the cardboard variety available from a certain pizza place down the road. On busy nights you have to wait a bit, but the people are always really friendly and the food is cooked fresh.

Great service. Good atmosphere and comfortable seats, but the portion size was very small and what would usually get you an amount that could feed a family of 5 you would only get 1/2 to 3/4 of the amount. The business was great until they started doing smaller portion sizes and cutting back on costs, i've never been back since.
