Peering into the glass cabinet of goodies at Sayers Food in Leederville, my pal and I were hard-pressed to choose something.
The multicoloured tarts, slices and stacks all looked incredibly tempting and we took our sweet time deciding what to sample for lunch. Taking a peek at the menu only added to the delicious dilemma as there were several enticing options of salads, gnocchi and tapas to tickle our fancy. The waitresses were patience personified as we "ummed" and "ahhed" at the counter for several minutes. Queen of tarts We both ended up choosing a tart, but they were akin in name only. My friend's was a flat flan, with bright red cherry tomatoes glistening on top. I opted for a high ham, asparagus and corn filo number, which had a light filo crust, chunks of ham and spears of asparagus. Decisions decisions Not the most decisive duo, we were satisfied when we finally made our order, but as we turned on our heels we sighed. "Where shall we sit?"
