We signed paperwork and put down a deposit for a car 1 week before the end of the financial year deadline in order to secure the 2.9% financing deal. They told us our graphite coloured Yaris YRS would be ready in July and that they would let us know when the financing went through. 5 days later, we still hadn't heard from them so we called. The financing had gone through but the car that we wanted was no longer available. Our only option was to take a different colour of car at the same price. This was one day before the deadline for securing the financing deal so it put us in the uncomfortable position of either purchasing something that we didn't want from a dealership, or trying to secure a car from another dealership in 1 day. No other incentives were provided to us to persuade us to take the other car. I came up with the idea that they could give us the next model up (YRX), which they did have in the colour we wanted, at the same price. This would have required them discounting the original quoted price on the YRX by $1000. To me, this was a small price to pay for saving face about their mistake. They wouldn't do it. The best offer they would give us was $100 discount from the original price. We declined and bought a car from Southside Toyota in a colour that was more suitable to us. I'm just amazed at the complete lack of customer service at the Taringa Sci-Fleet store. Everyone was really nice during the entire process, but once they had us backed into a position that they thought was to their advantage, they wouldn't budge. I recommend going somewhere else.
