Shanghai Night is a cheap and cheerful chinese shanghainese restaurant in Ashfield. You can get a lot of fried dumplings for a reasonable price. I also like their hand made noodles although I suspect there's a lot of addictive MSG in there. There's also complimentary tea which is nice. HIghly recommended.
Another house for dumplings, similar to the other dumpling places on the main Ashfield strip this place has better noodles and seafood dishes for late night dinners. Service is as per normal, less interations and faces that seems unfriendly, however we did enjoy the food and mainly the dumplings. Come early to avoid waiting for a table and staff rushing around, 5pm-7pm is a good time to dine.
Shanghai Nights is a cheap and cheerful eatery in Ashfield. They are known for their hand made noodles and fried dumplings. The Xiao long bao soup dumplings have slightly thicker skin but it's still nice to eat. The food is high for value. The decore is a bit average but the food is amazing.
