Good Chinese food at great value for your time and money. Yellow traditional Chinese lanterns in combination with fluorescent pink walls make for an eccentric décor. Everyone can find their favourite dumpling, soup, noodle and rice dishes on the menu, plus interesting additions such as the shredded jellyfish and radish. BYO is a convenient choice, with a bottle shop around the corner.

Cheap, fast & really good. Obviously not the best dumplings, but for the price you pay, the time it takes to come out - you can't really complain. Friday nights tend to get really busy so don't be surprised if you're waiting over 1/2 an hour. You'll find people lining up with slabs of beer. And if you're there for lunch, try to get there right before 12 to avoid the rush. My favourite would be the steamed vegie dumpings and the fried pork dumplings.

My goodness! Are you guys kidding! The food is overpriced. The menu said fried veggies and I got boiled, flavourless veggies. The tofu dish was tasteless and wouldn't eat it. $52 damage for three was way way too much NEVER GOING BACK

Food is prepared quickly and the service is also pretty good. I loved the spring onion pancakes and bok choy in oyster sauce.
The atmosphere and presentation could be largely improved though.

Interesting decor is one of the best features - a bit like a traditional Chinese inn with a balcony area, but the colours are...inventive. Probably the cheapest restaurant in Chinatown. The food quality varies a great deal. I usually have the more ordinary things, like Roast Duck on Rice, and they don't do those things all that well. However, friends say their dumplings are unbeatable, really very good, and their spicier Shanghai offerings quite good. You don't usually see a big Chinese crowd here. I go there every so often.

Hands down the best vegetarian dumpling I've found in Melbourne.
Food is great, service is quick and friendly, prices are awesome (4 of us had lunch for $26) and the tea is good too.

Cheap eat. The price in shanghai village is affordable. The taste is good as well. But when you enter the premise it smell awful, smell very vinegar. Customer service is good in comparison with other chinese restaurant in china town.
Try the frozen dumplings.
