I would never have had the opportunity to stay at the Shangri-La Sydney if it wasn't for work business trip. The service was top, what you would expect in a five star hotel. After a long day of meetings and having to check in after 5pm, i just wanted to quickly get up to my room and kick my feet in the air and do nothing. I was served and check-in within a few minutes. Going up to my floor and walking the long hall way, my room was at the end. When i entered my room i was thinking this wasn't right because all i could see was a couch, no way i'm sleeping on a sofa, no way Shangri-La even have sofa beds. But as i turned right, there was a hall way to the bedroom. A massive king size bed, spacious to fit 10 people to sleep on the floor. The bathroom was huge, a spa and a separate standing shower, and my favourite part of the hotel is the amenities and toiletries. Shangri-La uses L'occitane as their toiletries. i Was like, i don't even own anything L'occitane because it's expensive. Although the view was of traffic, it didn't bother me because i pulled the corner blinds shut not wanting to get the sun light in for the morning. Bed was comfortable. Room was peaceful. Free wifi. I ordered room service for breakfast and that was fantastic. Great service and i enjoyed my breakfast in the separate lounge where the couch was. I hope i get a few more work business trips to enjoy the luxury of Shangri-La again.
