I recently stayed here a few weeks ago for a business trip. Lovely grand entrance, as you would generally expect for a well-established brand name like the Shrangri La I had a late check in, as we were completing all the details the women served me noticed I was quite pregnant and said oh, we must give you a better room I was pleased to hear that but at the same time thinking what type of room must she had booked for me. Anyway, upon checking in, the difference must have been the king size bed but again when comparing to another colleague who was also staying there, he also had a king size bed. Spacious room, bathroom, lots of pillows. The only addition would probably be the carpet; I feel it may need an uplift to brighten up the room a little. The highlight for me would have to be the buffet breakfast, by far one of the nicely presented buffet in terms of presentation, selections that Ive been too. Service was great, no issues. Wait for the taxi rank was a bit lengthy at times, overall great experience.

I would never have had the opportunity to stay at the Shangri-La Sydney if it wasn't for work business trip. The service was top, what you would expect in a five star hotel. After a long day of meetings and having to check in after 5pm, i just wanted to quickly get up to my room and kick my feet in the air and do nothing. I was served and check-in within a few minutes. Going up to my floor and walking the long hall way, my room was at the end. When i entered my room i was thinking this wasn't right because all i could see was a couch, no way i'm sleeping on a sofa, no way Shangri-La even have sofa beds. But as i turned right, there was a hall way to the bedroom. A massive king size bed, spacious to fit 10 people to sleep on the floor. The bathroom was huge, a spa and a separate standing shower, and my favourite part of the hotel is the amenities and toiletries. Shangri-La uses L'occitane as their toiletries. i Was like, i don't even own anything L'occitane because it's expensive. Although the view was of traffic, it didn't bother me because i pulled the corner blinds shut not wanting to get the sun light in for the morning. Bed was comfortable. Room was peaceful. Free wifi. I ordered room service for breakfast and that was fantastic. Great service and i enjoyed my breakfast in the separate lounge where the couch was. I hope i get a few more work business trips to enjoy the luxury of Shangri-La again.

My partner and I booked a room for a night for our anniversary.

    The room was amazing.

The view of the Harbour Bridge, Opera House and part of the city was spectacular and at night it was even better.

The buffet breakfast was delicious and the staff at the hotel were super friendly as well.

Perching on top of a hill overlooking the beautiful Sydney Harbour and the Opera House, this hotel was definitely one of the best I've ever stayed in Sydney. The service was absolutely impeccable, and the view from the window was absolutely priceless. Whilst I would only stay here on a rare basis (due to the high cost!), the couple of times that I have stayed have been absolutely memorable.

The decor at the Shangri-La is definitely dated, but you can't beat the views this hotel has to offer of Sydney. We stayed in a Premier Suite which was on a corner giving us uninterrupted views from the Opera House right back to the start of the Bradfield Highway.

We didn't have much interaction with the staff because we had someone else check in on our behalf, but the suite was extremely spacious, with a huge bathroom and bedroom, a separate living room and an additional restroom adjoining the living area. I managed to squeeze in a visit to the spa as well, which was heavenly.
