I highly recommend this cosy little chinese restaurant tucked away down Little Bourke Street in Melbourne's CBD. Shark Fin Inn's staff accomodate walk ins the best they can, I highly suggest booking in advance, especially with high numbers. A great variety of yum cha's savoury and sweet delights at a very reasonable price. Food is made fresh before each seating and I couldn't say no to their egg tarts! With their two daily seatings at 11.30am and 1.30pm, if you are a yum cha connoisseur this is a place not to miss!

We suspect that the management has changed. From our previous dinning experience, all we could taste were salt and msg. Food portion were always small but it use to taste good. We have decided to not go there any more after being continuously disappointed and overcharged for seafood, more integrity is needed when it comes to weighing of seafood e.g. crab, lobster, fish etc. Service is slow too, save your money and effort, eat somewhere else to avoid disappointment and wasting your time coming on here to complain.

I love the freshness of the food at Shark Fin. It's not very cheap but you are guaranteed a tasty, fresh and quick meal here! The Sang Choy Bow is a great way to start off!

I found my meal at this restaurant to be mediocre at best. The portion sizes of the dishes we ordered were smaller than expected, and the meat was dry and chewy. The prices were quite high, and the service left a lot to be desired. After waiting 20 minutes for a table despite booking in advance, we then had to wait for the menus, drinks, meals etc.

Excellent Chinese cuisine. This one has been around for a long time. Offers decent value Cantonese dining for lunch and dinner.

Make sure you make a booking for this yum cha haven, or you may be disappointed. They take 2 bookings 12-1 and 1-2 pm. If you can, it's safer to get the 1-2, as you would likely be 'hurried' to leave by 1 pm to give way for those booked for 1-2. The place gets really busy, and for good reason. The yum cha are yummy, the calamari is scrumptiously crunchy and the 'sago' pudding is to die for. Prices are very reasonable.
