My goodness! What a sweet little find... I was strolling down Whatley Crescent looking around generally and just happened upon this great place, was almost going to keep walking but I am so glad I didn't. Old fashioned looking cafe and old style favourite cakes and light meals. And the Cupcakes! oh yum! I had the vanilla and raspberry cupcake, I am not kidding it was one of the best if not The Best cupcake I have ever had!
Had a latte to accompany which was also very good, nothing turns me off a place quicker than a rubbish coffee I have to say. Can't wait to go back and try the light meals and another cake of course...mmmmmm

Whenever Manhattan's frenetic way of life whipped me into a frenzy, I'd pop over to the cute cupcake shop and pig out. Forget anti-depressants, there's nothing like a stupendous sugar rush to stave off big city blues. I didn't think I'd miss Magnolia when I came home but, to my surprise, I was craving one of their trademark cupcakes as soon as my plane touched down in Perth. Turns out I wasn't the only one with a fetish for American baked goods. After spending two years in NYC, Sheree Davies and Beth Denny have just opened Sherbet - a Magnolia-inspired cafe and bakehouse in Maylands. Sex and this city I felt like Carrie Bradshaw when my friend (who’s a cross between Charlotte and Samantha) sat beside me on Sherbet’s big window seat and told me about her “sexploits”. The cafe’s retro fit-out also put me in a New York state of mind. Its vibrant mix of vintage furniture and art deco pieces provided a visual feast, as did the exquisitely presented sandwiches and tarts. Brown pape...
