I chose this business to repair my car as it was local and accredited and deeply regret not choosing another repairer. I would not suggest this business to anyone needing car repairs, this I cannot stress enough.

I went through my insurance for a recent accident and also decided to have some other minor damage repaired at the same time. There were several delays and there was no communication on their part. I was originally told 5 days (Monday to Friday), then told the following Monday I had to contact them constantly to find out if my car was ready, it took 8 days not including the weekend which happens but to top it off the car was incomplete when I returned to pick it up, they could not source a part and did not inform me.

I found the part on the same day at a wrecker and returned it. Subsequently I had to wait for the part to be resprayed, after hearing nothing for several days I called to find out what was happening, the part was still untouched. Several days had passed they said the part was "being sprayed", I called the next day saying I would come in that afternoon but conveniently the repairer had already left. I went in the following day to have the part attached, I then returned home and stepped out of the car to notice the clear coat on the side they had repaired not even two weeks earlier has started to lift along the roofline I also noticed that there was a spot of clear lifting on the opposite side of the car (which I suspect was covered with some silver body cream because it wasn't visible when I picked up the car). I could not believe it. I called and they said to come in the next day, the repairer was not there the next day so the receptionist took some photos. I heard nothing so I called yet again to find out what they were going to do, the receptionist said the photos weren't clear so I needed to go in.

I went in and the repairer was reluctant to say much flicking the lifting clear with his fingernails. He said he would repair it and I said you will and you will also fix the lifting clear on the opposite side after all the trouble they had put me through. It was fixed and the ordeal was finally over, the car was sold at the nearest opportunity.

Do yourself a favour do not get your car repaired here. There should be a zero star option.

My insurance company chose Shoppingtown Motor Body Repairs (SMBR) to do the repair job on my Hyundai i30 Trophy. Although the damage to my car was not extensive, the work was done on schedule and the vehicle handed back to me in pristine condition. I mentioned F22B1's criticism to the management at SMBR and he is aware of my intention to send this message in support of his company.

My experience was exactly the opposite. The front end repairs to my Hyundai i30 were carried out to perfection, on time and the car handed back to me in pristine condition. F22b1's apparent disappointment would have been better reported to his/her insurers, who would have dealt with the matter had there been any substance to it.

Scalebod, I am very happy to hear your experience was much better than mine, I hope for future customers' sake that you are legitimate. For the record, when I originally realised the repair was defective I contacted my insurer, and they stated they would only step in if the repairer refused to fix the issue, so I had no choice but to wait it out until the job was finished properly. Furthermore, after my repairs were eventually finalised my insurer sent me a feedback survey to which I gave Shoppingtown Motor Body Repairs appropriately low scores in regards to customer service and quality of repairs. I wrote my review simply as a word of warning to the general public. This was my first experience with this company and obviously my last. I tell those I know who need repairs to avoid Shoppingtown Motor Body Repairs because of what happened, I don't want them or someone else to go through the same stress I did.
