Each time I've visited this restaurant I've come with one other diner, and service could possibly be improved. It can be particularly awkward when meals are brought out at separate times, considerable lengths apart - however this has only happened to me once and our waiter apologised. Their pizza and pasta menu caters for most tastes and the serving sizes are certainly what you pay for. With the amount of other restaurants on Church Street I would certainly prefer to look around than settle here first.
Hate to be negative but I really didn't enjoy this place. Food isn't authentic. Service is slow and decor is dated. There are plenty of other restaurants in Parramatta that serve better food in a better fashion.
Not a good experience. Firstly we were a table of 10. They sat half of our group at the front of the restaurant and the other half at the back - it wasn't until one group rang the other to find out where they were did we find out what had happened - bare in mind we had a reservation. Entrees took over an hour, and only 1/2 of them came. Next thing you know the mains arrive and the 1/2 that didn't get the entree where wondering what happened, we did ask and they looked puzzeled. I had ordered a ceasar salad with avocado and no chicken - i get it with chicken - and then even after complaining about it, they charge me for the chicken and refuse to take the chicken part off the final bill! We chop through the mains, get interupted over 6 times with orders for other tables. Then out of the blue the missing entree arrive - as we are finishing the mains! Drinks took up to 45 minutes to get on average. Desserts arrived unevenly over a 20 minute period. One simple request was for ice cream and chocolate topping - they forgot and by the time his arrived, we had finished dessert. 2 desserts arived for the same dish - one steaming hot the other stone cold.... are you getting the picture here? One fellow orders a short black coffee - it arrives stone cold with a dirty spoon that was licked!!! We mention it to the waitress - no reaction. We were starting to feel like we were complainers but seriously none of us had ever experienced anything like this - it was dismal and it won't be repeated. You ask, did we complain at the time of the bill? Sure did - they wouldn't have a bar of it - we got a free pizza and a dessert off the bill - they then give us free parking tickets like it was a special treat - turnes out everyone who eats there gets it. We won't be back and we will tell people not to bother. The food wasn't so fabulous to compensate for the service. Very disappointed :((((
The service was terrible, our entrees came 45 minutes apart, a few of our group had already finished their mains before others were served their entrees! Drinks waiter might as well have been non-existent. The food was very average, rather bland tasting and quite expensive too. Never again for this one!
Whether it's T-bone steak or Chicken a la funghi, The Sicilian always delivers great quality food at a decent price. Good to make booking if you are doing a special dinner out as they are busy weekends. They also do great salads. All in all, The Sicilian is a great place for dinner in Parramatta. Highly recommended.
