Absolutely amazing food with great service!! I've been several times with family and friends. Including a birthday party for 14 and have always received great food and service.
The chicken with chili and garlic, octopus, garlic prawns and baked cod are all fantastic dishes. My absolute favourite would have to be the rump steak cooked on a skewer and then hung on your table for you to eat a piece at a time!!
It's fully licensed but they allow BYO wine. With a bottle shop directly across the street it allows you to save a bit of money by grabbing something there. Families with small kids are welcome.
I can't praise the food and service enough. If you want a real traditional Portuguese food experience this is the place!

Love the burgers with Garlic sauce here. Shame the joint down the road dose not do garlic sauce. Silvas win out over them many a time. Sad to hear about "Good-Mood" experience and partly agree the service there could easly inprove.

I have eaten & bought produce from this establishment in the past - many times. However this was my last time.

If you have food allergies don't expect to be treated respectfully.

I took my son there for the first time & quietly enquired about the sauce that they put on the chicken, I was told it was a secret recipe in a very tart & rude manner.
I tried to explain that I needed to know because my son has serious food allergies.

I asked why they were being so rude & if they treated Portuguese people the same way before walking out. My husband was astounded & speechless.

In my mind any business is about service first & foremost, then cleanliness/health/safety, then product.

Clearly this place thinks it can treat people like trash.

Probably the best option in a part of town which is renown for its Portuguese chick joints. Very relaxed, , solid food, reasonable prices and BYO, what more do you want!

This Petersham chicken specialist is great food at great value.

You'll know you're in Little Portugal: it's as if a permanent cloud of chargrilled chicken smoke hangs over Petersham. So a chook stop beckons, either queuing for the now ubiquitous chicken burgers or, better still, for the original, ridgy-didge frango (chicken) from the churrasco (chargrill). Obeying the golden rule that straight from the fire is best - as opposed to journeying home in a foil-lined bag - a half or even a whole chicken meal ($14/$22) lands you chips and Portuguese savoury rice with peas, onion and carrots on the side. And truly excellent juicy frango with a slathering of chilli (piri piri) and/or garlic sauces. Another churrasco wonder is the espetada ($24.50) - a sword-like skewer of cubed steak, which hangs from a stand screwed into your table top. If you're lucky, they'll have lapas on special - meaty shellfish from Portugal (limpets, in English) cooked with garlic and lemon ($18.50). Great food. Great value.
