In my opinion ... sizzler is sizzler. It's a lot of money ( I think it's $24 for Salad and drinks bar) for some salads, potato skins and soup. I'd prefer to go to a real restaurant. In saying that, food at the Toowong Sizzler is always fresh and new servings come out every few minutes (probably because they're always so busy!!!!).
There's always a high staff presence around the salad bar - which is great and puts my mind at ease.
Like most meals, dessert is the best part of dinner at sizzler - there's nothing better than a d.i.y. sundae.
We always visit Toowong Sizzler when we come to Brisbane, service is great and food is always fresh. Today we visited there but before we got to the counter my wife had a turn. The staff were simply brilliant. I will recommend Toowong Sizzler to all who I talk to especially those in the Bowen Basin Mining sector
There used to be one at Kenmore, but it's turned into a Petbarn now. A lot of old Sizzlers have come and gone over the years but the one at Toowong keeps powering on. Located in a fabulous position for advertising (on the corner of Moggill Road and Coronation Drive at Toowong Village), it's surprisingly quiet inside. The decor still looks fairly fresh and if you go at lunchtime, it's not too busy. I've had quite a few buffets over the years and Sizzler's stacks up pretty well. You're not going to be wowed, you're going to get full. Resist the temptation to overstuff yourself, however, so you can go home happy. I haven't tried the new Sliders mini burgers yet, but they look pretty good.
My family comes mostly for the salad bar. It's cheaper to come at lunch - the same food is a couple of dollars cheaper. I like the cheese toast, salads, the dolmandoes and the potato skins and I absolutely love the desserts (unlimited pavlova!). The service is good for a restaurant of its size. However in the past few years although the seafood platter has not increased in price, it certainly has decreased in size.
good selection of meals but they had ran out of the ribs the last two times that i went. steaks were overcooked, the garlic prawns were really nice. potato skins and desserts were a hit with the kids. Good family atmosphere.
been 3 times. pasta really not my thing ^^ so all times i go, i buy steak. i could say that it's the worst steak i've had for $25. steaks are always too chewy no matter how you get it done. desert is alright only 1 or 2 good deserts out of 6-8. salad bar - the salad with the prawns is quite nice.
Sizzler, a oldie but a goodie- bring back the 80's I say.
The service was perfect, even though we had to line up, a lovely sizzler girl was walking along the line giving us free cheesy toast while we waited.
My only beef with Sizzler is that they have gone up in price and now you pay $20 for the salad bar, I remember when it use to be $12. Damn inflation! Oh yeah and they went from giving you the chocolate mints to the hard round ones to none at all! It begs the question, how are we suppose to know when to leave if you don't subtlely give us the mints?
In summary bring the 80's back with Sizzlers cheesy toast and chocolate moose, BUT the 80s can keep the fro and tight jeans.
