A terrace house converted in to a bar. There are 3 floors to choose from, all of which are very different. My favourite is the basement bar, which is tiny, with fairy lights on the roof and leads out to the back alleyway where there are tables and chairs. A great vibe on a Friday night.

Amazing wine list, great atmosphere and one of the best cheese plates I've had! My friends and I really loved the vibe of this bar - it felt really cosy and welcoming. Definitely somewhere to settle in on week night over a bottle of wine and some 'smalls' - pate, cheese, anti pasto and dips. Highly recommended.

Well it was small but fantastic, went on a fairly crowded night but it was nice cosy and beers were a tad expensive, food looked good but pricey and not a lot of places to eat it but you know i didnt care too much it was such a nice venue great feel to the place not very pretentious like a lot of other sydney bars it was great highly recommend it

Taking advantage of the few small spaces left in Sydney is Small Bar. Vibrant atmosphere, extensive wine list and more-ish late-night nibbles. The three-tiered bar backs on to an alley and come summer you’ll definitely want to sit outside and share a generously stacked cheese plate.

One of Sydney's first genuine laneway bars attracts plenty of grateful guests.

WHEN Small Bar opened in December, it carried huge expectations on its tiny shoulders. Its owners were the first to take advantage of NSW's new, cheaper bar licences, introduced by the State Government after a push for more Melbourne-style small, laneway bars. Five months after the laws were enacted, this place popped up in the CBD and while the impact was less than seismic, it has attracted plenty of very grateful guests.
