    The rocket on this studio brought me here, so quirky and thought I'd give it a go as I only wanted a cut and blow dry, my colour I usually get at a cheaper salon next door. Before placing this I noticed the salons reviews werent great but after those reviews people have given rave reviews and had created a profile just for 1 review saying things about Smik hair. I hope its not staff as my experience was not extraordinary. The price was high and my allocated hairdresser could not manage my curls! I however can't blame them they are a pain but it seemed to me that it was too much trouble or they didn't have the experience. To cut this short I just ended with a wet cut and went to the salon I usually go to. Dissapointed as at the location this salon could do great things, maybe just hire knowledgable staff and fix up the interior. The only thing it has going for it at the moment is the location and the quirky rocket on the roof unfortunately. But I have learnt to check my hairdressers hair before committing to any cut/service.

    I have very difficult hair.....Afro/middle eastern. It has taken me 7 years to find another hairdresser that finally knows how to manage, colour and cut my hair without freaking out. So when I purchased a voucher on the internet for cut colour treatment, manicure and pedicure for only $69 I was a little apprehensive. BUT, what a fantastic, and most relaxing exerience. Tom and Justin were great. They listened and I left with exactly what I asked for. Even though it took me nearly 1hr to get there, I will be making them my hairdresser. Def worth the trip, oh and to beable to have a pedicure and manicure whilst my colour was setting rather than being bored looking through old mags was Def a great idea. Service was great, from start to end.

    10 out of 10 for this salon!!

    I went in this salon with what I thought was an impossible challenge of going from a vibrant firey red head to wanting to go back blonde, mission impossible I thought but one can always hope!

    Justin, Shane and his team proved me wrong! They gave me a thorough consultation and during the whole 4 hour process they constantly kept checking the progress and reassuring me, kept me amused with constant chatter and a stack of magazines.

    4 hours later I was a blonde again! I couldn't actually believe it myself!!

    I would recommend anyone to this salon, whatever the cut, style or colour ur after. Very reasonably priced too and both the staff and service are brilliant.

    Tell all ur friends because I certainly will!!!

    Worst experience. Ever.
    As I was sat down, the protective sheet they threw over me was covered in the last clients hair, it got stuck in my new black leggings but at least I had something to pick at while I waited an hour.
    I was meant to get a colour, cut,treatment, blow dry and just got the opposite colour from what I asked for and in a semi when I wanted permanent. I HATE it when staff don't listen! The staff that took down my appt (I confirmed twice) stuffed it up and blamed me when management confronted them. I know that as the staff are ridiculously loud and continuously talk to each other and ignore you. One of the staff made me cry after talking loudly at and about me and I was sat in a basin for 2 hours which wasn't great for my neck. During that time I was in tears and also suffered a panic attack. I was stuck and these people were not paying attension. Being on a disability pension doesnt help but I have never had stress like this before I don't want special treatment but I did want respect and not to be left in a tub for 2 hours! i attemped polite conversation but was ignored. They ignored my blowdry and cut and I just ran out to an adjacent cafe which were really lovely to me and lent an ear and a beverage. This is my experience in short, I would not reccomend. I was so distraught. I would not reccomend this salon.

    I went there due to a 'voucher offer' which looked too good to be true, and was...The person doing my hair constantly consulted another man there & it looked like everyone was learning except 1 staff. The salon was disapointing and service lacked, I wasn't listened to as the young team was too busy bantering with each other. I had to pay extra for a colour fix which dried my hair as the outcome was not what I asked for and that cost me heaps. It looks like a budget salon in presentation & fast service but with ridiculous prices. Stick with well known salons, I definately would not reccomend this place to anyone. I didn't even get the whole service I was entitled to but really wanted to leave as it put a serious damper to my day and was depressing.

    The general atmosphere of Smik Studio is positive and upbeat. Staff are for the most part young and charming, however the good times end there. Hairdressers at Smik completely fail to LISTEN to what the client wants, and actually take the liberty to do the very opposite of what was asked. Walked out feeling hideous and extremely disappointed in my style cut and colour (had asked for a reduction in length but for the cut to be subtle, and ended up with an extremely short and choppy bob which looked messy and completely unforgiving).

    Would definitely not recommend.

    Funky & Professional, big place with good vibe - friendly busy staff, good organized. Got my $30 mens shortcut here, they are offering tea or coffee, nice music and the staff is very communicative and fun.
