I've had Teppanyaki at Benihana and Kabuki, but Sono is by far the best. Service, experience, food -- all top notch. From memory the prices are a little more expensive (but not heaps), but it's absolutely worth it.

Really great dining experience. The service is always good. This is one of the few places in Brisbane where I don't mind paying a little more for excellent dining and service.

Highly recommended. Excellent food and service. Very busy on a Friday night - bookings recommended. Food and drink orders were delivered promptly. Definitely recommend the sashimi and sushi platters - fresh and delicious.

The restaurant has some of the best food I've ever had in my life. I have only ever heard rave reviews about the food also from people I know who've been. Outstanding service as you would expect from any Japanese restaurant where they will do everything in their power to maximise your dining experience. Great ambience where you wouldn't know you're in the hustle and bustle of the city. Not cheap but who really cares when the food, service and atmosphere are that amazing!

For those that want an "authentic" japanese experience when dining, this restaurant is one of the best. Other places don't even make you take off your shoes unlike this one, it is very traditional both via the surroundings as well as the food. Great choice of different dishes on the menu, pity there was no katsu curry but the red bean desert was great!

This restaurant has an excellent atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and the meals are excellent. I doscovered that I am not a great fan of rice wine, neither am I a fan of sashimi. I would have liked to sample the other foods but my stomach is not large enough.

This was the best restaurant I have ever been to. The service was great, the decor was amazing, and the sushi was the best I have ever tasted. A bit on the expensive side, but that is only to be expected. Can't wait to go back!

    Authentic japanese dining.
The staff are friendly and polite.
Many diners become regular customers and they will remember you when you walk in the door.
    Reccomend the gyoza set.

With a wonderful mixture of textures – wood, stone, water – this fine diner offers a serene setting. Tetsuo Inoue, a veteran of more than 20 years, leads a team of qualified chefs from Japan. Order a selection of dishes to share, including sashimi and sushi platters. The tempura moriawase includes vegetables, fish and king prawns, and the wagyu beef is meltingly tender. A huge selection of wines completes the picture.
