"Spend $25 in Dec and receive a $5 voucher to use in January 2010!" was the voucher I got from Shop 2060 Westfields Liverpool.
On this voucher terms were:
*Valid to the end of Jan 2010
*One voucher to be used per person per day
*Not to be used for purchase of NHS items or homy ped shoes
*To be used in purchases of $10 or more
The voucher has a signature in red pen to validate authenticity.
I went in on Friday 8th Jan 2010 afternoon, hoping to put it to good use. But was told its not valid due to I no longer have the original purchase receipt. I told the sales assistant that its not fair due to this important requirement wasn't told when the voucher was given, wasn't stated on the big bill board back in Dec 09 and wasn't stated on the voucher it self.
I asked to speak with the manager and the assistant was firm on this ridiculous rule. I stated such misleading information will be reported. "Okay." They said in uncaring dismissing tone.
So I had to leave with my baby in bitter disappointment. Why would one keep an useless old receipt from last year? I'm probably not the only customer with this voucher that they turned away.
Sent the above to their website feedback email. Got auto reply "I'm on annual leave, pls phone 2 (03) numbers. For $5 worth of voucher, I'm not willing to make interstate calls that may or may not resolve the matter. However its the principle of the matter and injustice that customers were being deliberate mislead.
So I went back to the website and phoned the hotline which is local call 02 number, this same day afternoon (08/01/09). The person who answered claimed they were the receptionist and can not assist me. They refused to give first name for the record or any receipt number for the call.
Oddly enough, they claimed to have never heard of the person on annual leave. That he is probably from New Zealand. They asked if I visited the NZ website, twice. When I answered its ".com.au" they clearly stated not interested in at least hearing my story. They claim Soul Pattison are privately owned and that's the end of it. Later recommended me to call back next week to ask for someone else who "is the only one in sales".
Such awful customer service. I'll never buy anything from there again.
