Great staff, very helpful. I cannot believe AHM covered $180 of my
Purchase And it's not an extra
I paid for and the staff checked my card in advance to advise me this was possible with my health cover...(2x $199 glasses including lense fitting) I paid $19 for those and my eye
Check was free. A lovely man repaired -on the spot- my half rimless lenses, as one had fallen out of its line. Was also given a new case for these. On time as scheduled with the appointment, two weeks
Max wait and SMS notification of when they are ready I am very happy. Their 2 for 1 deal is great.

All good until got a different prescription on the multifocal glasses. The glasses that arrived were way too strong for my child and not what had been prescribed. This was not discovered until we had been there for quite some time, saying repeatedly that she was wearing them really wrong and tilting her head really strangely (because that was the only way she could look through them without feeling ill). They kept insisting that it was just the way she held her head. I think I know my child better than that.
Anyway, finally got the medical staff to double check, they were really good and immediately discovered the error. Apologized and re-ordered them, no harm done.

The thing that I am really angry about was how we were treated when we went to pick up the new glasses. I decided to ask for clarification about the prescription so I could understand in future what the numbers on the prescription meant, so this error would not recur. The management became rather arrogant and said, "Well, 5 years of optometry and you will."
I did not appreciate that at all, as I had only been asking for a couple of minutes, not for an hour long lecture. And given that your store had made a mistake, and they are not $20 glasses from a pharmacy, perhaps you owe me some of your precious time? They became brusque and said clearly you are not happy, so I am going to schedule you for a new eye test, and they did that, and we were dismissed.

Yes it was busy, and obviously they wanted us out so they could concentrate on getting more sales. But there were plenty of staff on hand, and given the error that they had made, I felt entitled to ensure that this pair was correct.
A real shame, as the staff and the other two medical staff were lovely, but the management clearly feels that customers are an annoying nuisance, and a waste of their time.

They were all good until it came time to finalising the entire process. They are the ones that push 2 pairs of glasses for one low price ... blah blah blah

We went through the hard sell to up-size my order with every possible add on to my pair of specs.

I told the assistant that I only wanted one pair as I still have 2 other prescription sunglasses and never needed another pair. They intimated that it was fine I would only be charged for the one pair.

They then took my health insurance card and processed the claim, this leaving me a gap to pay. I then queried this as they charged me the full price for both pairs. I asked them about this and they got quite abrupt insisting that it was policy that if you only want one pair they still charged for the second as it was supposed to be a free bonus.

Now none of us are that stupid, we know that the one pair's price is inflated to cover the second pair.

So I said no that this was not fair and was different to my understanding at the onset of the transaction.

So I then said ok, I will take my second free pair and give it to the man that just exited the testing booth and he could have a $300 free pair of spec as it was my free pair and I could do what I wished with it. It actually says that in the add on the wall. As you can imagine this never went down that well with the store so they said no I can't do that, so I told them to cancel the entire thing and reverse the billing to my health insurance and I would go else where.

They could not reverse the charge to the health insurance after 3 attempts, so I called the health insurance and they said that there way nothing wrong with the systems.

They eventually agreed, and maybe this was to get rid of me as I kept offering people my free pair of glasses and of course they kept telling me that I couldn't do that , to give me the 25% extra mark-up that they put on the glasses to cater for the cost of the free pair as a good will discount as they couldn't reverse the charge to the health fund.

An amicable solution was reached, but the ethics of the company are a bit suspect I suppose. Some would just accept this and paid 25% to much
