Reading the reviews below you get a sense that he locals might have an agenda of their own. The new improvements to the dining area, the cafe grub & service are consistently fantastic. Had a great lunch on the new tables on the wharf, listened to a guy playing a guitar. Had a good chat with the owners - These guys are working hard to give us travellers a great place for a break when out on the bike for a run. Well done i will be back again & again as i have for years! -

I was recently at the Spencer store after many years and was surprised to see all the improvements the new owners have done, the menu has been extended, the shop has been opened up and the new tables and chairs on the wharf give you absolute waterfront dinning, the new owners were a pleasant surprise they couldn't be more helpfull and the BURGERS are still the best on the river, keep it up we can't wait to see you both again. The food was the best but the Service was even better.

I have been a customer of the Spencer Village Store for 11 years but this morning my copies of the SMH and Australian were searched to check whether I was trying to walk other merchandise out of the store. I'm not a happy customer. I'll be driving a little further in future to the Mangrove Mountain General Store. -

Well it's just over a year since svs was purchased by the new management and how things have changed. Food is of low quality the store has little or no stock and the staff are rude. The boats have stopped coming the bikes have stopped coming also and the word is well and truly out on the Hawkesbury the place is tainted. The locals and the tree are part of the rich tapesrty of Spencer's past. -

Just read the only other review & couldnt agree more! have been travelling to spencer for 20 yrs or more & always raved about the food & lovely people who owned & ran the shop but thats a thing of the past!!!!!!! Now that the shop has been sold the food is of poor quality nothing like the home made rissoles we used to get! the new owner introduced herself as she handed me my coffee which was a mess! & didnt seem to even notice that there was more on the saucer then in the cup? Why would anyone change something thats not broken?????-

How True. Come back I say to the old owners. The new people are rude and the food is crap. My dog wouldn't eat it. I have been going there for the last 10 years but not any more. They have screamed at staff infront of me and I won't go there. They won't last long. The locals are driving all the way to Mangrove Mtn for there food and items and thats where I go now.1 year ago

I had the most disappointing experience last Sunday when I took some overseas visitors for lunch. This place used to have the best little cafe on the Hawkesbury River and after raving about the place on our way there I was so disappointed to find out the business has been sold. Not only had the wonderful friendly owners gone but the truly superior quality fresh hamburgers and great coffee has gone too. We had to wait so long to even be served (20 minutes) we left. Never again
