I recently took our dog for her immunisation to Springfield Lakes Pet & Vet and left as a very satisfied customer. It is obvious from the outset that both the receptionist and vet love animals and enjoy what they do. Our dog has a nervous disposition and is particularly fearful of vet clinics. However, the staff took the time to put her at ease, play with her and help calm her down. The vet showed an excellent understanding of dog behaviour and was happy to take the time to answer any questions we had. We then followed up our vet visit with a hydrobath ($10 on Saturday) and felt the service was good value for money. I will definitely be returning to this business and highly recommend them.
I am disappointed to hear negative feedback on this business. The second you enter this place, you can tell that to everyone that works there, it is much more than just a job. If you are a pet lover, then you will love this place. You can always guarantee the best service and advice at this place. I have 2 dogs - 1 of which had an infection in her stomach which was quite nasty. The care and compassion they give to not only the animal but the owners, is outstanding. I now recommend this place to anyone that I know who has a pet
I took my dog to get a hydrobath in Winter. We turned up on time to our appointment yet the hydrobath had not been set up outsidse and all the staff stood around while a young girl tried to wheel it out the door herself (my partner ended up helping her), then we stood watching as she tried to connect the hoses. She admitted she had no idea how to do it, water was splashing out everywhere. My partner ended up helping her once again, while the rest of the staff stood around inside chatting.
The water was luke warm for about 2/3 minutes, then went cold. Our poor dog was absolutely freezing. The girl wet our dog, then put a couple of squirts of shampoo on her back. Hardly lathered it up and then rinsed her off. Then squirted some conditioner on and said 'done'. I questioned her about leaving the conditioner on and she said it was a leave in treatment, however I had read on the bottle it was a rinse out one and pointed this out to her. So she then washed it off and once again implied that she was finished. Our dog's collar rubs under her neck, leaving black marks. I asked the girl to wash around there. Then the girl asked if that was okay now? Our dog was left completely soaked. We asked for towels and they were all too wet to use, so our dog went home dirty, cold and soaked.
I called up to complain and they said to bring her in again and they would wash her properly free of charge. A different girl this time was no better. She spent ages wetting our dog. But forgot to put the shampoo on. We couldn't believe it.
They do $10 hydrobaths on Saturdays, however we took our dog during the week when it is much more expensive. Even if it was a Saturday, I would expect more from this service. Definitely would not reccomend for hydrobaths. May be better in the vet side of things???
I took my puppy bam bam for one of his shots and microchipping to Jason at the pet and vet, all the staff were more than helpful and loved their jobs. The girls behind the counter were playing with him while we waited for an emergency to finish before us, they were really friendly. Once I got in to see Jason it was evident that he LOVES what he does. As a first time dog owner he cleared up all questions i had and gave me more information than I could ask for!! The service was a lot cheaper than I expected too which was an added bonus! I would highly recommend Jason and the girls to any pet owner!!
