    stayed at this hotel last weekend, informed the staff that it would be for my anniversary and asked if lighting candles would be okay in a non-smoking room. they reassured me it would be fine. after lighting the candles and double checking (videoing my room on the phone) they reassured me it would be fine. Apon checking out i was charged $400 dollars for damages to the room because one of the candles and dripped wax onto the table. i could understand 100ish but 400 for an old table.

      Why didn't you put a saucer under the candle to catch the wax? It's not rocket science. I do not know this hotel but I had a guest do a similar think at my B&B and they spilt candle wax down an old antique fireplace woodwork and onto the wooden floor. It took a lot of time to scrape it off without damaging the fire place. Respect other peoples property and you will not get a bill (damage and labour costs)

    I was billed an extra $200 to my account upon checkout due to smoking in the room. Non-smoker and turned out to be the previous occupants of the room after arguing upon checkout. Sauna/ Spa below par. Public pool facilities are a dream compared to the Parkview's. Stayed on the 21st & 22nd of Aug 2009
