    Seven kinds of awesome! Got my hair cut two days ago, and it still works with me styling it! Going back tomorrow for some killer colour.

    They've led me to the right retro style, and I'm not annoyed to lose the length as I thought I would.

    Fun atmosphere!

    After having my hair styled here for a special occasion, I thought it was about time to take the plunge and let them cut my hair. Now I know this might sound dramatic but I have difficult hair. It's thick, coarse and triple the volume of the average person. A bad haircut can leave me looking like a troll doll for weeks.

    I waited got 2 weeks to get an appointment and was really excited when it came around. they instantly knew what to do with my hair. they knew layering and thinning would just make it worse. they definitely passed the test. I walked out here with a 30s bob and got many compliments about how glam my hair looked. exactly what you want after a haircut.

    What I love about this place ( more than the haircut) is the friendly service. there is no Sydney pretension here. While they have the 50s rockabilly thing happening, they just know what to do with your hair with a friendly and down to earth service. also they are great value. I normally pay around $200 for a haircut but this haircut was$80 and better than the cuts I was previously getting.

    it's been 2 weeks now and the haircut has stood the test and is easy to self style and maintain. So it's Saturday and I'm sitting in the salon again getting my hair colored and again they have passed the test again.

    If you are looking for a change then I can highly recommend Sterling. it's even just a cool place to hang put.

    I love Sterling Hair Salon! Great decor, feel like you have stepped back in time , and the music is cool (Peggy Lee, Frank Sinatra for example) Very relaxed atmosphere. What a gem Tony is, I loved my new haircut . You must check out the barbers shop out the back, great vintage barbers chairs, shelves with old fashioned hair products and cut throat razors and the walls have some great girlie pictures. This place is worth going to just to have a look at the decor.
    Pretty Lou on the front desk is a real sweetie . Can't wait to go back. Suzy

    After reading the reviews here on True Local i decided I had to try this hairdresser.

    I must say, a great hairdresser, I was really impressed by the decor and theme of the place, cool tunes playing as well.

    But the point is I got a great haircut and my girlfriend also approved - which is what really counts.
    Defo going back here next time - and yeah book advance as they do get busy. Think i've found my new hairdresser :)

    i had heard so much about this barbers shop and had to wait for over a week to get in.so i was a little disapointed when i got there to find what looked like a 1950 hairdressing salon(it was cool and the girl in rollers under the dryer thing looked good) but not as i thought a barbers shop.
    my name was called and i was taken down the end of the space by a guy that looked like Erol Flyn,as i got closer to where my hair was to be cut i was sudenly in the coolest old school barbers shop,with pics of nudie girls from the 50s all over the wall the chairs i was told where from the 1920s it was so frigging cool!!!!
    then there was the hair cut i endup with the coolest 1940s haircut ,the guy use a razer on my neck and something called bay water ,man i loved this place im booked back in for a shave...got to say the chick on the desk isnt bad as well

    Went and had my haircut at this cool new salon.
    It looks like the set of American show Mad Men, sort of 1950's amazing interior! They were really friendly and my hair looks amazing, as I'm into retro they even finished it off in an Ava Gardener style!! I've been back twice now!! They even have those old fashioned hood dryers that you can sit under, so I'm booking myself in for that next time. I sent my boyfriend there for his birthday as they have a mens Barber shop section and he got a proper shave where they use hot towels and the cut throat razor close shave. They don't just do the rockabilly retro stuff though, they do all the modern fashion cuts and colours too. I love this place!! But watch out they are very busy, you have to book about 2 weeks ahead atleast!!
