Murray McHenry must be a bit paranoid about hellraising customers from the old Steve?s Hotel days running riot through his new bar/bistro/wine store/gourmet deli.
But, just as Steve's has evolved from a radical student pub into a genteel wine sanctuary, so has its former clientele matured ? like the fine wines they now consume ? into well-heeled members of the establishment. The only potential rampaging to be done in this uber-chic redevelopment of the old pub site is if one of the garrulous lawyers who now make up the client base decide to purloin some of the Grange locked away under glass. And, just to make absolutely sure, our little party receives the most curious of greetings on entrance to the little bistro known simply as Steve?s ? sorry, that?s now Steves without the apostrophe. Our delightful waitress shows us to a table and instructs us to hand over a credit card, which will be returned at the end of our meal when we pay the bill.
