Steven Laurent is a registered clinical psychologist, full member of the Australian Psychological Society, and member of the Australian Association of Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy. He is frequently invited as guest lecturer at Sydney University, where he lectures on Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, and Drug and Alcohol Disorders. At present he is collaborating with Assoc. Prof. Menzies on an anger management book and program, and has recently begun a PhD in the area of Anger with the University of Sydney.

Steven works with depression, anxiety, anger, post-traumatic stress, obsessionality, addiction, chronic pain, or else individuals seeking to enhance their quality of life or who wish to flourish or excel.

Steve's main therapeutic method is Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in which clients re-examine beliefs or behavioural patterns that are causing them problems; however, he also draws from methods such as Mindfulness training (a form of awareness training/meditation); Motivational Enhancement therapy (for resolving ambivalence, e.g. in addiction or difficult life decisions), and Acceptance and Commitment therapy (which encourages clients to relinquish avoidance in the pursuit of a valued life).

Steve's style is dynamic and focused, and he gives each case a great deal of individual attention and commitment.
