I just went to this restaurant yesterday night for dinner. They marked up nearly all my dishes on the bill and each dish mark up $1 to $2. I have four dishes and 1 extra item of rice paper. Three dishes have been marked up for $5. I asked them why the prices are totally different. The wait staff made excuse that the prices on the menu that gave to us already 3 years ago. The restaurant has not changed the menu for 3 years, but only updated the prices in cashier counter.
I said you need to update the price in menu, however staff excuse that they cannot re-do and change all the menu. I said at least the restaurant should cross out all the price and change to the new price by pen. Then staff had nothing to say. At that time, I can hear a person scolding that the prices on the menu is old price which were the prices in 3 years ago. Everything is increased.
They resisted to ask me to pay the price. I said you must charge the price in the menu. You cannot mark up whatever you want. Last they still charge me $2 more than the price in menu. One dish they haven't change price in the bill and the other one (extra rice paper) they add $1 more than the first bill which they gave us. I said how come the second (revised) bill which add $1 on top of price of extra rice paper more than the first bill. The staff said if you pay the old price, then this item should add $1 more.
The price should stated in the menu. Do you believe to look at the prices of menu which was 3 years ago? Could you imagine the menu cannot be changed for 3 years.
