Sultans Kitchen Restaurant

Directions
Award winning restaurant brand 'Sultans Kitchen' has been operating out of Australia since 1983. Twenty five years onward and they still offer up the same great tasting Indian food and have collected several awards along the way (Pataks Indian Restaurant of the Year, American Express Restaurant of the year, CTFAQ Gold Plate Award).

The dining environment (decorated with classic Indian decor) will keep your eyes busy as expert chefs rustle up your order with fresh ingredients in the kitchen out back. Speaking of ordering, when looking at the menu be sure not to overlook the house specialties. Lamb korma and chilli prawn goa are two highly recommended meals. So when visiting Clayfield, be sure to pick Sultans for your night out. You might even be lucky enough to dine amongst celebrities, past visitors include David Bowie, Carlos Santana and Billy Connelly.

We went there for a friends birthday, and ordered the banquet meal for two. Entrees were good but we waited 45mins between entree and mains. The first course was prawns that tasted like they were from a tin, the second were chicken kebabs that were not cooked properly, and dessert was a mixed plate that included a creme caramel that was burnt on the bottom, and to top it off no lights in the ladies restroom.... Such a shame because it was a really lovely atmosphere... Wont be going back again.

Always get takeaways and it is lovely food. Meals arent consistant - must have several chefs using slightly differnet methods? But always very good anyway.

The first outpost of this Indian empire was opened at the Toowong end of Milton Road in 1983; 24 years on, it’s become one of Brisbane’s best-loved providers of Indian cuisine. Marketing itself as a fine diner, it has seen the likes of David Bowie and Rolf Harris walk through its doors, but it remains warm and welcoming with Indian colour and sparkle in the decor. With a focus on authenticity, the menu features skilfully executed Indian classics such as spicy meats from the tandoor, tantalising curries, and samosas that are definitely the real deal.
