Summerland Restaurant in Bankstown is has a well earned reputation for being a Lebanese restaurant that delivers large servings full of fresh flavour and flare. The menu offers all the traditional and expected dishes as well as an array of specialties that are specific to Summerland. With mains coming in at under $20 and a banquet menu at $35 a head, Summerland is inexpensive and enjoyable, with a bar as well as a belly dancer to keep the diners entertained. It is BYO wine only and corkage is $3 per person.

Before going to Summerland I've checked the reviews and noticed low score for customer service. Nevertheless yesterday lunch time four of us went to have the experience that can only be classified as "unique". Firstly, we were greeted by the bored look from the staff with limited english who led us through entirely empty venue and we got seated. A bottle of chilled tap water was served. While the restaurant looked clean and tidy, a quick visit to the bathroom revealed slightly less positive picture. Looking at the menu we noticed that the banquet price has risen to $40 and seafood to $60. Still, we wanted to get some food and we proceeded to order two meat banquets and one seafood. And then to our utmost shock we were told that despite the order standing at $140 we must order another banquet for the fourth person. Just to clarify, this is not "all you can eat" place where per head fee is required, this is set menu / a'la carte restaurant. Obviously we didn't want to spend another $40 because of the restaurateurs say so. After short discussion we did what we have never done before, we left the venue dumbfounded and shocked.
$40 for food is expensive. Actually it is very expensive. $60 for fish is just a rip off. The staff was definitely lacking in the service and manners department. Don't think we'll ever go back.
Luckily, we went to Bansktown RSL where we had an excellent feed and great atmosphere for $15.30.

Fresh food and baked bread singer and a belly dancer while you eat. It didn't get better.

Wow what a reataurant!! This has become a regular place for us to eat yummy Lebanese food...you have to go the banquet, $35 per head gives you as much food as you want!! From salads, dips, pickles, meat, finger foods, more middle eastern traditional foods, and deserts. it is a true bargain!! I promise you, you wont walk out hungry!!
