Really disappointing :( Poor and tardy service - they finally brought our bottle of wine AFTER we'd asked 3 times and AFTER we'd finished our entree! The food was also not very good. Let's face it, you don't go there for the food or service, you go for the view. And even that wasn't the best - from where I was sitting I was looking straight into the trees. I went there with my fiancee for his birthday and he left hungry and unimpressed. The entrees were ordinary in flavour - nothing special at all, with dollops of plain mayonaise and flavourless dressings. The steak in the main course was good but the lamb not really at all. Overall I found it bland and thoughtless. My recommendataion - spend that $200 on a gourmet hamper and have yourself a picnic at the lookout instead. Much better food and view!

Stunning view and beautiful setting. Prices are on the expensive side ($40+ for mains) but the food is nice. Dessert was disappointing as it seem bought in rather than made on site. Staff weren't great either. One seemed more interested in anything else but looking after staff and the other just was not on the ball!

My husband brought me here for my birthday. Food and service were good. Views were pretty. So why am I giving it a "below average" rating? Because when we presented the Entertainment card to the staff for a "buy one entree, get one entree free up to $40" offer, they returned to our table and said management has decided not to accept Entertainment cards. Excuse me? That is NOT truth in ADVERTISING! You do not willingly agree to advertise discounted dining offers unless you are PREPARED TO HONOR THE AGREEMENT. I will not be going back ever again!

We got married five months ago at the Summit Mt Cootha and found it to be absolutely fantastic. We could not fault anything at all. The food was absolutely superb. The service was great and even to this day everyone that attended my wedding comments on how fantastic and beautiful the Summit Restaurant was. SInce then we have been their a couple of times and again we found the food to be lovely.

Summit Restaurant may be on top of the hill but it is going down hill fast. We went there a couple of years ago and the service and food were dreadful. However this month friends wanted to try it, so given this restaurants widespread bad reviews in the media and online, we thought the place would have improved.

Our verdict after this second bad experience at Summit Restaurant is that nothing has improved, instead it has got worse and is overcharging beyond the standard of quality.

This restaurant has a prime location and should be a Brisbane icon, but instead it is a place we would not go back to and it is certainly not a restaurant we would recommend.

I'm a bit surprised by a couple of low star reviews, but each person has a different experience. I have always enjoyed the Summit Restaurant (make sure you ask for a window seat when booking). Certain nights of the week are absolutely packed out, so why not go on Sunday night when it's fairly quiet and you can get the attention you deserve. The waiters seem fairly well trained, well intentioned and well pretty darn good all around. The food is excellent; not the best I have every had but certainly up in the top 20%. And the view? Incredible as the sun goes down and the city lights come on. It's like you pay for the view and get a great meal thrown in for free!

Yes, view is excellent but sadly food + service do not match up to the price. I've been twice and will never go back... unless I bring my own picnic and sit on the lawn outside the cafe! Both times I ordered salmon and both times the fish was overcooked - even though the second time I specifically asked the waiter to make sure the fish was not overdone. The menu actually described the salmon as 'medium' but it was definitely overdone. Both times my hubby enjoyed his mains, but felt that the price was not worth it as the food seemed like a good home-cooked standard but not gourmet, restaurant standard.

    The view is amazing!!
The food on the other hand, a huge disapointment - Staff were rude, & had no idea about customer service! We had to ask twice for our beverages, as they were forgotten about, and 2 of the 4 main meals were returned as they were under cooked, and even when they did come back as expected, the quality was below average for the price.

A dining experience that was hugely dampened by the customer service, & lack of quality.

We never got the opertunity to give feed back at the resturant as we were'nt asked!!

I will not dine there again & I would never reccommend it...... Shame as we chose to dine there to celebrate a special day.

View amazing, entree beautiful, mains disappointing & average - bad pub food at best, service shocking. We waiting for someone to come to our half of the restaurant for about 20 minutes after finishing our main and after this time somebody did, looked at our table from a distance and looked after her table and left again. Because of this i cannot comment on dessert because we never got a chance to have it. Asked for water, it never came, the waiter/barman couldnt answer questions we had about the menu, we bought a bottle of wine which we had to top our glasses up. We had to wait for about 40 minutes between entree and main & there were only 8 or so tables of people. If we were in a bar it would have been an acceptable level of service but being the summit restaurant i expected a lot more. Complained and were offered free mains when we came back but that wasnt even enough to entice us. I will never go there again.

A picture is worth a thousand words, and you will want to take many when you come to the Summit. Be prepared to pay top dollar for your meal but it is well worth it. I proposed to my wife here, and it is a moment she and I will never forget. One for the romantics.

Forty-seven floors up, the revolving Summit restaurant takes 90 minutes to spin around. Dining high in the sky can make you dizzy after a Mojito from Orbit Bar. You can’t go past the crispy-topped, twice-cooked pork belly, delicious served with a royal gala apple and Madagascan vanilla marmalade. Note: Crispy Cream is a crème brulee, not a donut.

The view doesn’t get much better than the Mt Coot-tha Lookout’s famous panorama of Brisbane and terraced seating inside ensures that everyone can enjoy it. Or opt for a seat on the front open deck, or in the Pavilion Room, a glass-enclosed room on the deck. German-born Manfred Woeller has worked around Europe, Asia and Australia before arriving at the Summit in 1993. A favourite dish is the crisp skin Atlantic salmon, which melts in the mouth and is served with creamy mash, fresh spinach, and tomato and chill jam. You can spice up your salad or antipasto platter with smoked kangaroo, salami or cajun chicken. Wines include a vintage cellar selection, which will complement a platter of award-winning Australian cheeses. Mains average: $30.
