Their lunch specials are a good deal. I often go there on Saturday after a big night out for the lunch special, where I choose the spring rolls, fried rice, almond chicken and the chinese tea. Such a good deal, eatten in air conditioned comfort, and friendly staff.

Established in 1979, Sun Fay is one of the oldest restaurants in the western suburbs. The extensive menu offers 200 contemporary and traditional Chinese dishes that have no added MSG. Owner-chef Hing Chung has experience as executive chef at many Hong Kong restaurants. Shan dong chicken is the most popular dish, but depending on the season fresh live seafood such as mud crabs, lobsters and coral trout can make it to every table. Seating more than 150 people and split into three dining areas, the feel is simple but enhanced by antique Chinese paintings. Mains average: $16.
