A guaranteed fix for your Japanese craving as well as a healthy cheap option for a meal. The Teriyaki Chicken Fish/ Salmon is especially good. Because its so good it can get super busy but it's worth the wait.

The place to go for fast, delicious and cheap Japanese. Whether its takeaway or eating in this place on the buzzing food-hub, Stanley Street provides quality & convenient Japanese food. I am a fan of the edamame ($3) spicy salmon salad ($9) and seaweed and tofu salad ($7). Extraordinary value for fresh Japanese, even more amazing is the sashimi. You can get a large serving for $15! And it is divine. Eating in can prove to be a challenge as there are always a lot of people dining or waiting for takeaway. But if you do decide to brace the crowds its BYO and there are a few small tables on the street. They will give you a plastic cup for your wine! Sushi on Stanley is no fuss, no frills, just brilliant Japanese. Their motto on the front of the menu does well to sum up what theyre all about: Quality food at a not so expensive price.

I absolutely love this place. The sushi is fresh, cheap and delicious, the service is great and it's always busy, which you know means it's good. While it doesn't look like much from the outside, Sushi on Stanley dishes up some of the best Japanese food of the area. And it's super cheap too! You can get a very decent-sized hand roll for $4, which is almost enough to fill you up all on its own. I often go here with my girlfriends for a quick bite to eat on a weeknight because we're all strapped for cash and we know the bill is rarely going to come to more than $15 a head. You sometimes have to wait a few minutes for a table, but it's never too long and I promise you, it's worth it. Definitely try the tuna/avocado roll, or the prawn tempura, which is also very good. The soft-shell crab is my personal favourite though.

It must not be hard to be the best Sushi in Sydney according to TrueLocal - the second review was written over a year ago. I feel the food here is just okay and far too hectic to really enjoy the food. Sure it's always packed - but I think that has to do with lack of choice and quantity rather than quality. If you have time try, Newtown Sushi Train, Azuma's, Miyako on Liverpool Street or in Chatswood.

This is the best sushi I've ever had. It's fresh and tasty and the portion sizes are generous. Plus the food is pretty well priced. I love it and would go every day if I could!

Delicious and so inexpensive! Perfect place to get takeaway, or an easy and fast mid-week meal. Also good for eating alone. Definitely not for lingering. And although it is very small, it has a cozy feel, and in nice weather, it's pleasant to eat in.

By far the best sushi you're going to find in Sydney. It's cheap, fresh and delicious. The chicken teriyaki rolls are amazing. Always my first choice for sushi.

Great little takeaway sushi place. Eating in only advised if you like it cramped. Their hot food is good as well although the teriyaki can be a bit sweet. Everything else is top notch and this is one of the better sushi places near the Cross.
