I would be very wary of this business. My wife called them to just service our split system. They quoted us $160 which was $80 for coming out and $80 for servicing it. that was ok by us and when they came by and took a look at the the a/c and said that there was no point in keeping it as it old and they gave us a quote for $3800 for a new one which was fair enough but insisted that even if we finalized it straight away we would still be hit with the $160 for coming out and servicing the old a/c which they were not going to anyway. Well, surprise, surprise they lost the deal but still insisted that we pay the 160 though they were not going to service the present one as it was too old. I can under the 80 dollar fee but we had to pay them the 160 because they became quite belligerent and said that was company policy. If you hear the $160 spiel from them, run for the hills. being a business person myself, I couldn't understand losing a 4 grand sale for a 160 bucks.
My experience with this company was in fact quite pleasing. Brian and his team were very considerate and attentive to detail. They installed units in my new home which we have just finished building. They removed their shoes before entering my home (without being told to), they laid sheets on the floor under where they were working so that any debris wouldn't destroy or dirty my new carpet, they sprayed down the walls to remove any hand marks that may have been left by the electrician during the installation and also vacuumed the carpet underneath where the units were installed. Great job done and very pleased with the work and how organised and efficient they were. These days, it is rare to find a tradesmen that would clean up after themselves so its nice to see Sydney Air take pride in their work.
Very, very disappointing. I wish I had come onto this site before I approached this company. Failed to turn up the first time without a phone call or any contact what-so-ever. So that was one full day I wasted. The second time after much apologising they at least called to say they wouldn't be able to make it but that didn't help when meetings had already been cancelled and other arrangements made on my part. The third time after waiting half an hour without a phone call to say they would be late I had to call to ask if they were coming. I was told yes but after waiting two and a half hours I tried to call to cancel the appointment. Four phone calls were not answered (and there is no answering service) but as soon as I messaged to say their service was no longer needed, I received a phone call straight away. Absolutely inappropriate way to run a business. While polite and apologetic about the repeated delays, apologies do not a good business make - and they certainly don't help to fix what is broken.
Why can't you give a zero star rating. This company was booked in to come on a Wednesday and they said they would call an hour beforehand. No call happened and I called them at 3pm and would have to call 'base' to check. I had to call back again only to have them tell me they were not coming but could come the next day (I'd already taken a day off work to be there).
Instead of the Thursday, it was agreed that they would come on Saturday around 12, again calling an hour beforehand. No-one called so at 12.30 I called them and he said he would be here in an hour/hour and a half. I waited and then called back at 3pm only to be told that he would be here in an hour/hour and a half again. I said that, as repeated many times before, I had things I needed to do that afternoon and had already stayed home from a function to wait for them. He then hung up on me.
They did call me at 5pm that same day and said he could be here in 5 minutes but as I was out that was not an option. He said he would give me a discount from $160 to $80 on the charge but as he had already quoted $80 when the booking was made would not reduce the $80 fee any further. I asked them who the business owner was and he told me it was Angus.
They said they would call me at 8am today (Wednesday - 15/12/10) after I had rearranged my plans again. No call has been received and it is now 12.30pm. I called their office and asked to speak to the business owner only to be told that Angus is not the owner! Who runs a business like this?
Not only does this company not show up, refuse to discount their services when customers are repeatedly inconvenienced but they lie about who owns the business. Truly appalling. I'm so so glad that this company never showed up. I would hate to have to deal with them any further. I can only imagine the trouble that would have stemmed from that visit! All this hassle just for someone to come and check if the aircon was fixable or not. They weren't even doing any work
they are all nice before the money is paid, but carefully read your warranty contract with them, as it has a clause about any failure caused by power surge is not covered...which is an excuse they use to get out of any warranty! We had a unit which was a complete write-off after only been on twice in the first year, apparently destroyed by power surge, even though another air con unit in the same house was fine! and they refused to cover it and wanted to charge us to take it out!
Would expect a better service from a ice cream truck, turned up late, left a mess and was very short tempered. Way over priced in my opinion. Never to be used again.
Brian and his team are professional and really know what they're doing. I had to have my air conditioner repaired and Brian was very thorough over the phone so he knew exactly what he had to do when he arrived. It took less time that I expected and at a very competitive price.
