We had a great experience with SCR. Right from the start, Ben provided us with friendly and professional support 7 days a week and until late, whether it was quoting, ad hoc queries, getting more boxes or how to move that difficult piano. On the day, the moving team was friendly, positive and had the grunt to help move us up a lot of stairs without complaint. They were great and just kept going. We would recommend them highly. -

Without a doubt the worst service I have ever had. Initially I was extremely pleased with the guys that came and moved my stuff. They were prompt, friendly, and professional and I was happy to recommend them to all of my friends. But when I saw I had been over charged $600 I called to let them know a mistake had been made, even then I felt it was some misunderstanding that would easily be taken care of. 5 months later after no one returned my phone calls or emails and after nsw fair trading had set a court date they finally emailed me to say they would give me my money back at which point they still tried to keep an extra $200. These guys were fantastic. From booking a move/storage job with a very funny guy who cracked me up through to the two supernaturally strong blokes who did the removal in torrential rain and under very trying conditions, their service was top knotch. Great care was taken to protect our belongings and the whole experience was so well executed that we ordered an end of lease cleaning job through them as well. Good, fair rates and high quality work. They charged for 3 hours even though the move even took 2. I was even in the drive way when they turned up and I timed it myself. Unreliable and never returned calls. Guys who came out on the day for the job were pleasant/professional however. -

We were somehow scared of removalists before as we had heard scary stories from our friends but guys (Roy and his colleague) from Sydney City Removalists did a great job. They were really professional in their work and attitude. They did not damage a single item and also did the whole job in a very timely and efficient manner. they arrived at 7:30am and finished a 2-bedroom move by 2:30pm. Their job is very difficult and they remained very positive throughout the whole day. we feel lucky that we had this company doing our move. I chose this company after reading reviews and I thought I should have an input for such professional hardworking people. -

From the very beginning when their guy knocked on our door to the actual day of the move, everything was REALLY professionally done. Dealing with Ben one of the owners to the driver & main man, Henry, it was great. We had pre-packing the day before the move & then unpacking afterwards. If we hadn't of had these extra services we would still be up to our ears in unpacking. However, all done & happy as larry. Well done SCR team. A big thank you. -

After a horrible experience with a smaller company for the last move , we decided to choose a larger , more experienced moving company. SCR were recommended to us by the real estate company.
From the moment Amber rang me back to discuss quote i knew we had made the right choice.
Amber was fantastic, professional, left no detail out and made us feel very relaxed that everything would run smoothly.
Issac arrived on time and completed the job in record speed , not once did I see him with out a smile, despite the scorching temps.
Issac was fantastic, the whole move went super fast, he was very careful with furniture and boxes. Everything was in tact when the boxes were unpacked. Extremely professional ( & strong )

SCR helped me move a load of furniture and art supplies from Eveleigh to four different locations around the city. They were fast and efficient and very careful with our goods. It was a truly difficult job and two guys worked really hard in the heat of the day to get the job done. We achieved all of our goals and had no dramas in completing the job- well done SCR! -

Very disappointed with the service by Sydney City Removalists. The packers and movers were great - they worked quickly and tirelessly to get our move done. The big issue was with the after-service. During the move, one wardrobe was completely destroyed, a valuable artwork went missing and various smaller items were damaged. I was only told of this after the truck had returned to depot with the items. I immediately asked SCR for some photos as evidence of the damage so that I could claim compensation from my insurance. Such a simple thing to do. More then 10 phone call and emails later no one has bothered to get back to me. In addition, SCR overcharged us by $250 and took payment without my consent using our credit card details that I supplied previously for the deposit required for booking the move. Their casual response verbatim was "it (would) just be a bank surcharge". At no point prior to payment was I informed that there would be a bank surcharge applied. They have refused any further action so now our credit card company has opened a case against them. -

Sydney City Removalists gave me the worst experience in moving I should say. I was called regularly by these people before I even got a rental property and once I arranged everything with them and the day came for my moving, the things started becoming so bad that I didn't know what to do. The time they took were almost 6 hours for a small one bedroom furniture items. The damage they caused while moving the stuff was a lot, including breaking the glass of the house from which I was moving and chipping of my new furniture and finally breaking my treadmill which can't be fixed in any way thanks to them. I paid for two guys but only one will work well and the other one just cleans the truck and enjoys the music in the truck. The call out fees was paid before the move, still they charged me extra half hour for the move. Also the toll charges are 68.00 though the truck came from Sydney not inter state. I tried to report the damages and the huge charges to the management of SCR but the only reply I keep on getting is 'we are investigating" for the last two months. I had to pay 1000 for my small move. So beware when someone hires the SCR people. Finalize the cost first and then go ahead if you're happy and ask them for two skilled moving people for removal. Just sharing for you to save some dollars. Thanks -

We used SCR to move our shipment of belongings from our freight forwarders to our new home. We can't praise the workers enough for their great customer service and professionalism. Always proactive phone calls keep us informed.
There was a snafu in the shippers paperwork which threatened to delay our delivery. SCR did whatever needed to be done, picked up our shipment at the port and got it to us on time - something so rare these days.
We will definitely recommend them to friends and certainly use them again for our next move. And that's the highest accolade we can give.

Overall very happy with SCR we used them again this year to move from Brookvale back to Paddington. This time we had a lot more furniture (new addition to the family) and we needed the packing service. Jenny came to our house the day before the move and worked efficiently all day with my partner and the place was ready to go on moving day. Moving day went very well although there was a slight delay in the traffic with a jam on the bridge but these things happen. The trck size was larger than last time so we only had to do one trip. The staff were very helpful and will certainly be recommending SCR to friends and family although fingers crossed we dont have to move again for a few years.

Thanks to SCR for our move from Bronte in September. We have moved many times in the past and with mixed results but our recent move with SCR was by far the least stressful and although not the cheapest quote we recieved were happy to proceed with the pre sale service and then the movers themselves were fantastic. Greg and Greg woreked hard all day and the packing made my life a lot easier.
Happy to recommend SCR for anyone moving.

Disappointed.When I booked the mover I did so very clearly on the proviso they would perform a balcony lift for me. I was told yes. I was also told I would have to pay for three men per hour and not two, as two alone couldn't do a lift, so I did. The three men showed up with no knowledge and no equipment to do a lift. When I called and finally spoke to someone who booked me she told me that it was on their job sheet. It was not. After a lot of phone calls I had to move WITHOUT my couch and it was left in the apartment. After asking if they would accept any responsibility for this in way of a discount or paying for another provide to make the lift they promised I was told no. It cost me several hundred dollars more to do the service they had promised me. Also the pre-packing service was sub par as I had to revisit my place and found four drawers unpacked and bits and pieces just left in most my kitchen cupboards. Terribly overpriced for what they offer, disappointing as I booked them on the basis of their glowing testimonials, they they have put on their website of course. Most ridiculously expensive and stressful move I have ever made, never again. -

SCR helped us move a few weeks back. I was impressed when I first called them becuase they seemed to ask intelligent questions about our move. Some of our items were unique and quite heavy. Looking at them work, I was happy I was not doing the lifting. Towards the middle of the truck loading, the team leader suggested that with the amount of items (and we had alot), there was a chance we might not get everything across that day and would I like to have another person to help. They arranged an additional helper, who arrived just 20 minutes later. Everything pretty muich went smooth. The only casualty was a broken photo frame, but that's becuase I dropped it myself. Best to leave stuff like that to the professionals. The guys worked really hard I felt. Although I don't plan on moving again soon, I would definately use them again. -

My husband and I recently moved from Paddington to Rose Bay with the kids, two dogs, and the huge amount of odds and ends we have somehow brought into our house over the years. My girlfriend from Lyne Park tennis club in Rose Bay passed on the companies details as they did a good job on her move.
Mark the owner came out and presented us with the option of either a fixed price or by the hour quote. He was well presented, funny and not your typical rough looking moving style of guy.
We decided to give these guys the job and I am glad we did. The move like any move we have done was stressful however the meticulous pre planning made the day far better than any other move we have had before.
Both properties were inspected prior to the move and I was presented with a specific move plan and schedule for the day which made things a lot easier. The pre-packing service was fantastic and cut a considerable amount of time off the move. I would never move without having a professional pre pack service again as it saves time and nothing gets broken.
They really went the extra mile to ensure that myself and my husband were happy. The flowers and bottle of vino to say thank you were also a nice touch.
The head guy we had on our move was called Tommy so if your looking to move ask for Tommy's team at Sydney City Removalists as they were fantastic.

We used SCR for our move last week and were very happy with the service they provided. We used them for the packing part as well as we have two little ones and it is always a nightmare moving with kids. The packing ladies were very helpful and made the move far less stressful than our last move and when the movers came they were very polite and on time and managed to deal with a very heavy period piece of furniture that has been in my family for years and did not get one scracth on it. Overall very happy and will definitely use again.

Hola. Eastern Suburbs Spanish school is private language tuition school located in Bondi. I used Sydney City Removalists to merge my school and residence all to one location in the same day. The move was a bit of a tricky one with multiple pick ups and drop offs. Unfortunately I moved to a top floor apartment and the elevator was broken so the guys had to use the fire stairs. They were very understanding, patient, uniformed and polite. They even went and collected my new couch I bought on EBAY at the end of the day as the seller was not home as scheduled in the morning. They didnt even charge me the extra half hour. They were a very decent and sweet group of guys who moved me. I would hesitate recommending them to any other language schools or girlfriends. Diana -

I first met Mark at Jazz in the vines. I ended up using the guys at SCR to move my sound studio. I was a bit worried at first by by the thought of any removal company touching my stuff as I have over $250K worth of production equipment.
After about an hour I relaxed up as everything was being very professionally wrapped by the professional packer Jenny prior to going in the truck.
The price was fair and the guys installed my acoustic panels at my new studio. So if you have delicate expensive stuff the SCR are the guys to call.

I used SCR to move in early August 2012 in the lower north shore area. I was tremendously disappointed with this company and service. Multiple pieces of furniture were damaged by the movers as part of the move. This includes multiple large scratches to our dining room table and legs, a hole punctured in the back of our bookcase and dents/scratches all over an antique dresser. They were too busy smoking and talking on their cell phones during the move to even notice. Since then, I've tried to call / email them multiple times and have been ignored. When I finally when I got through to someone, I was told I was "on my own" and it was not their fault. This company is unprofessional, unhelpful and do not care about you or your belongings - just your money. Do NOT use SCR in the future. -

Fantastic!!! thats how I would describe the men who work for you.. i am told they are known as the A Team.
They were very professional at all times, energetic and unbelievable strong, and have the patience of a saint.
With yesterdays wild weather rapidly approaching and having been delayed at the previous job the guys moved me in with about 30sec to spare before the rain came down in buckets. They moved quickly but still took time with my possessions to make sure they were not knocked around any more than they had been previously.
These guys are a credit to you. I will definately be telling any of my friends to use your company.

I am writing in regards the removalists SCR sent to our Lewisham premise on 16/7/12 at 8am. The two removalists showed up on time but unfortunately it all went down hill from there. From the get go the removalist said this and that wasn't possible to get out of our apartment and asked my partner to unscrew the pieces of furniture so they could move it. When we did so various parts of the bookshelf which he dissembled had trouble coming apart. The removalist asked if he could kick it?! I said no obviously and he then proceeded to twist the shelf off without evening trying to pull it off. My partner asked him to stop and managed to pull it off without damaging the surfaces further. They then moved to the wardrobe and complained that they couldn't move it either without having my partner dissemble the entire unit. They then proceeded to move it downstairs only to seemingly give up half way because it was "impossible" to get around a corner. When we asked to try other options. He refused saying there was no way they could move it down even though there was other ways the other removalist was suggesting that the other removalist didn't want to try. They ended up moving the wardrobe upstairs and my partner began dissembling the unit when they went back to moving a few smaller pieces of furniture in the room. By this time an hour had passed and not even half our 10 pieces of small chipboard ikea furniture items were in the truck. I could hear them chatting downstairs loudly not sounding like they were coming back upstairs after the few items they took down. My partner poked his head out of the window and civilly asked them to stop chatting and return back to work.
At this point the removalist bellowed back, "Are you serious? Why don't you move it yourself then?" and came up the stairs and repeated that my partner should move the furniture out of the truck himself and do the move himself. He then went back downstairs and ordered his assistant to take photos of the furniture in the back of the truck and back upstairs of the furniture that was still left in our room. Then they left immediately to return to the Alexandria depot. They didn't negotiate at any point, weren't reasonable at any point.
They took as long as possible (one hour) to load less than 5 light items into the truck and twisted off a shelf, broke a leg off our wardrobe and spent time arguing with us when they could not move certain larger items down the stairs (which we promptly disassembled) when they could have used the time to figure out what they could do to make it possible to fit down the stairs. It was an absolute ordeal from the moment they arrived to the moment they left. I therefore phoned the depot immediately to arrange a refund for their lack of a service but were merely put through a number of departments with no subsequent return phone call from the management after speaking to the operations manager who deemed it a case of he said she said. I think anyone agree if someone came to your home and damaged your furniture and left you stranded with your furniture as well as wasted your time on the day you planned your move does not deserve to be paid. The fact that a legion of reviews about SCR attest to a service that is in every words ideal and the move itself was a complete nightmare is indicative of some contradiction in their business model.10 months ago - 16/07/2012 via TrueLocal mobile web

1. Truck turned up with 2 staff, not 3.
2. Staff took many, many "breaks" - all of which we were charged for.
3. Staff took 2 hours to get from old house to new house. Husband took 30 mins.
4. Truck did not fit everything in. They could see this was going to happen, but did not prioritise the most needed things.
5. Several pieces of furniture were damaged by the movers right in front of me. Nothing was said.
6. The whole move took 12 hours, when we thought it may have taken 8 at the most.
7. After all of this, the company charged us for about 14 hours (not the 12 on the final invoice). After many, many emails and phone calls to the company, they finally admitted to the overcharge. They undertook to refund the difference. Nothing ever happened. That was about 2 months ago now. Still more emails and phone calls but no contact EVER back from them.
DO NOT HIRE SYDNEY CITY REMOVALISTS. -

I can't recommend this company high enough & the people who helped move us.
Helen - who took our booking was not only professional but courteous, pleasant, polite and uplifting - she was a pure delight to talk to.
Henrik and Arnold - our removalist - were fantastic ! The hardest workers I've come across in a very long time. They just got stuck into the job, with such drive, energy, focus and gutso - they were simply amazing. They never stopped, never complained - they had such a great attitude, were so polite and helpful, clean and tidy - I just can't express my gratitude and thanks enough to these two wonderful men.

The initial discussions with the business were very positive and professional. They got back to me within the hour every time I contacted them.The guys that moved me were great however....... I was billed ( and charged) incorrectly and left with a broken door lock on my external door.
15 days, 6 emails (as I was told to create a paper trail) and 9 phone calls later - the only reply i have is "we will investigate it and get back to you", I have now heard that 9 times.
This company destroys any credibility generated by thier pre-sales service with their absolute lack of after sales service. -

Just a note to say how impressed I was with the removalists, Joe and Sam from SCR.
Not only were the boys on time (in fact early), but they also were extremely efficient, fast and very protective of my belongings.
I have used a few removalists in the past, however the professionalism and dedication that the boys showed was outstanding.
I would recommend SCR to anyone that wpuld listen to me, and I thank them again for their help with our move. -

I had an excellent experience in dealing with SCR. I was able to book my move in at 7am on a Saturday at the last minute when no other company could do it. Laila was extremely helpful with the booking process. I was quoted for two men and three came out and I didnt even receive an extra charge. They honoured a voucher I had in the entertainment book even though I sent it through after the move. The boys were very polite and helpful. They were very careful with our belongings yet efficient. I will definitely be using them again for my next move. -

The whole experience with Sydney City Removalists was outstanding. The booking was easy, the move was confirmed the day before and payment was simple.
Wade and his colleague were absolutely wonderful. They turned up on time, didnt complain about parking or the 5 flights of stairs or the heaviest couch in the world, and worked non-stop for about 5 or 6 hours. They were extremely polite, helpful and efficient. I have never seen such hard working removalists the only time I saw them stop for 5 minutes was when they were finished.
I would highly recommend Sydney City Removalists to anyone. I have had some really difficult moves in the past, and my sister had just had an awful move with another removalist company, but we were both extremely impressed with my removalists.
Thank you very much for making my move the easiest move Ive ever done!

I want to personally thank and recommend, Gabriel & Ben, and the office/admin team of Laila & Manny @ SCR. Every step of the way has been professional,courteous, helpful and productive.
Gabriel & Ben were faced with an extremely difficult parking scenario out front of our apartment block on a busy road, they approached the situation with care and a logic respectful of not only traffic, but passers by and access to the building. With a little problem solving and discussion ,crisis (getting a smaller truck to make 2 trip) averted. They then set about loading up the truck at a fast pace but still maintaining care throughout. Unloading was lsightly less painful, but the guys came through again with flying colours, unloading speedily with care and respect for our moving items, the buildings floors, walls and doors etc. In short awesome guys and highly recommend using Sydney City Removals and personally vouch for Gabriel & Ben. These guys took the pain/stress out of moving loacations.
I've used another company in the past who were more expensive, slower and didn't take as much care.
