TESTED SAFE is a Queensland owned and operated small business. Unlike most other states Queensland Regulations require licensing before a competent person may â??test and tagâ? for other businesses. Our operator(s) are licensed to Queensland standards and are authorized to undertake testing in other States and New Zealand. Queensland Testing Regulations tell us that electrical equipment in the workplace must be regularly tested to check if it is electrically safe to use. The Electrical Safety Regulation 2002 requirements depend on the working environment for Class 2-4 workplace equipment. Class 1 workplace equipment requirements - Construction and demolition sites, equipment used is to be tested and tagged quarterly. Equipment used for assembly, fabrication, installation, maintenance, manufacturing, refurbishment or repair work (Class 2 work) requires that all electrical equipment in this class must not be used unless it is tested by a competent person. Double insulated appliances must be tested at least every year. If the equipment is not double insulated then it must be tested at least every 6 months. If the equipment is safe, a tag is attached immediately to the equipment that clearly shows the date the equipment is to be retested. If the appliance is deemed not safe to use, a tag must be immediately attach to the equipment that warns people not to use the equipment. Unsafe equipment must be immediately withdrawn from use. Equipment used in Class 3 and 4 work. Class 4 work is office work, Class 3 work is anything other than that included in the other classes. Specified electrical equipment in this working environment is to be tested and tagged by a competent person. If the equipment is only used for Class 4 work it must be tested at least every 5 years and in class 3 work tested at least once every year. TESTED SAFE and you'll know it's safe.
