Coming from Sydney and having experienced Melbourne"s cuisine I would say the food is not extraordinary, but to Cairns standards it has to be the amongst the best.
Also I would like to point out also the service is very good, there are always very nice young ladies waitressing who greet you with a genuine smile and are only too happy to satisfy your requests.
I have been there many times and have always walked out happy for the experience. the last time it was my birthday and made a booking for 9 people, I was impressed because they allowed me to bring my own cake and without charge they wrote happy birthday and my name on the plate with a few sparklers, cut it and served it individually to the guests and a few other details that make the patron feel special and appreciated which I find extremely lacking in other places in Cairns. Thank you very much, I highly recomend
We are Cairns locals and regular customers at most of our city and beaches restaurants. We rate Tha Fish very highly indeed. Not only is the food fresh, carefully prepared, beautifully presented, but the setting is one of the best in Cairns. On the boardwalk the al fresco restaurant gives you views of trinity inlet, the passing boats with a backdrop of the East Trinity hills. Our first visit there was so enjoyable we invited six of our local friends to join us there the following week. On booking, the dish we particularly loved was not available (all the fish is locally caught) but other options were just a delicious so we confirmed the booking anyway. But chef went to the trouble to source and have have available our favourite dish that day, we were very impressed. Since then Tha Fish has become the prefered seafood restaurant for all our friends and we always take our overseas and interstae visitors to enjoy the experience.
